Apparently this guy reported the Fournier signing before anyone else and a few other things.

It completes the trifecta of random internet sources. @bigmike said a deal was agreed upon, ICC from the Heat forum said the Heat were notified that they were out of the running and now this.

Tell me if I’m getting this right. The trade is basically done short of announcing it but we want to find a way to get rid of a contract as well?

Jazz out:
- Donovan Mitchell
- Mike Conley

Jazz in:
- Obi Toppin
- Immanuel Quickley
- Russell Westbrook
- 23/25/27/29 1sts from Knicks
- 26/28 pick swaps from Knicks
- 2023 Dallas 1st
- 2025 Milwaukee 1st
- 2028 1st from Lakers
- 27/29 pick swaps from Lakers

Knicks out:
- Obi Toppin
- Immanuel Quickley
- Evan Fournier
- 23/25/27/29 1sts
- 26/28 pick swaps
- 2023 Dallas 1st
- 2025 Milwaukee 1st

Knicks in:
- Donovan Mitchell

Lakers out:
- Russell Westbrook
- 2028 1st
- 27/29 pick swaps

Lakers in:
- Mike Conley
- Evan Fournier

We end up with a total of 7 1sts and 4 pick swaps. We obviously buy Westbrook out. Knicks get Mitchell. Lakers save 6.3M in salary plus about 16M off their luxury tax bill. They get Conley and Fournier who they desperately could use. It’s a win-win all the way around.
Lakers gotta get more then that.

Route them Quickley, the Jazz will probably get Sexton anyway. They can have any pieces they want as far as I’m concerned if we can own their draft for three years.

I don’t know. I think the savings alone is a ton of motivation plus it’s addition by subtraction from Westbrook. They desperately need some shooters which Conley and Fournier can obviously help with. I also only put the 2028 1st and 27/29 pick swaps instead of vice versa.

Right. I still think it’s very rich for the Jazz. I amended my post after you quoted it, but I’m basically of the position that in the Westbrook dump, the Lakers take any pieces they want if we get to own their draft for three consecutive years.

I think they’re far more motivated by revenue and titles than they are saving money. But let them pick out the players and decide what they wanna prioritize.

I actually think the Lakers need to give up more....their last 1st. They really need to move off of Westbrook. He will kill the Lakers team mojo before the season starts if not moved. Moving off him and gaining two contributing players will help them exponentially.

Well let’s start with my offer and see where it goes from there they may be super desperate to get off of Westbrook. I know I would be if I was them lmao.

They also do not give a **** about their future picks. LeBron is a free agent after this season and they do not want to waste another year with him.

Sure, but I think they’d prefer Kyrie and I also believe Brooklyn would jump on the trade if the Lakers were sending that draft compensation.

I think it probably makes the most sense for all parties if the Jazz were facilitating that trade by taking Westbrook, and sending pieces to Brooklyn and LA.

I’ve heard they won’t trade picks unless he signs an extension. But he won’t sign an extension unless they do his bidding.

I agree with that as well.

On a side note Knicks fans think they can sneak a Randle/Bogey swap in the deal lmao. Might be the funniest thing I’ve seen all week. Unless they’re sending literally all 8 of their 1sts including 3 pick swaps that isn’t happening.

I’m cool with that for all the picks

Can anybody explain the beef Tony got into on twitter a few hours ago regarding Westbrook? I am not well versed in Twitter enough to walk back the origin of the heated discussion.

I didn't see all of it, but it was about this video...Tony was all upset because he thought Sochan was disrespecting Westbrook. He kept bitching about how Westbrook is a hall of famer and Sochan is a rookie who hasn't proved anything on the court yet and he should show Westbrook some respect.

I might have to hop onto realgm and break the bad news that no one but the most junk franchises in the NBA would touch Julius Randle with a ten foot pole.

If I had to guess…

The realgm Knicks forum are eating up bigmike as a big source, and this guy eats up realgm Knicks forum and appropriates the same phraseology.
