Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Feels like things are heating up and all sides are leaking information in order to gain leverage. I'm predicting something happens before Labor Day. Either we make a deal or decide to go in to camp with Donovan.

Is Pat Bev some malcontent? Holy ****… do people even pay attention. He’s very much the opposite… dude talks mad **** on the court and competes but he’s a ****ing pro… does his job and is all in wherever he goes. Gets traded from LA to Memphis and is like “**** yeah let’s get it” … gets move to Minny and is like “let’s do this!!!”… gets moved here and is like… “cool let me know where you are Utah… if you want me I’ll get you to the playoffs”.

Worst case you buy him out. His deal was expiring.

This deal is a down payment… just wait.
That's why all 4 teams have held on to him this last year...

This is best case scenario for a 34 year old player that isn't very good that gets traded a lot and has never been good that was a throw in for us. I know you think highly of him because you wanted attitude on the court because of how things went the last few seasons. He wasn't it and never was.

IDK why so many of yall are living in this fantasy land where every asset we have on the roster must be maximized to the absolute fullest potential possible or the rebuild is a failure.

The Gobert trade and early Mitchell rumors really spoiled yall.

Holy geez man... he isn't very good but he's had a positive on/off splits every year of his career except one and did it all on playoff teams. Minny extended his deal last year when they didn't have to and then moved him because they found a trade for a star. He sucks!

The Pat Bev slander is wild on here. Dude changed the culture in Minnesota and always makes the playoffs wherever he plays.

Wow, all those years carrying James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Chris Paul, Paul George, and Blake Griffin were very impressive.
Also, he made it without a star teammate with the Clippers and helped the Timberwolves make the playoffs for the first time in like 15 years. He is extremely useful and people throwing his age out there like it matters. We could have desperately used him these last couple of years.

Crazy how those really good teams were always better with him on the floor than off it. He won't help Lebron and AD at all.

He's a proven role player that stays in and loves his role... it also happens to involve a couple things that winning teams constantly seek. Shooting and defense.

He’s 34 and an expiring contract though. How much is he REALLY worth?

Sure, he's solid.

He's highly overrated but I give him credit for marketing himself effectively.

Zero concern with what Ainge has done so far. He has cost us nothing by waiting. If anything he has solicited as many offers from as many interested parties as possible.

I do hope he is traded by Christmas so we don't trip into too many extra wins + risk a fluke injury. I put a lot of the value associated with this trade on the expected quality of our pick in the 2023 draft. But if continuing to hold him means 3 unprotected firsts vs. 2, patience remains a virtue.

We gave up a solid starter for a playoff team for a guy with a bad contract... but my gawd the wingspan and potential?!?!?

That's all I'm saying... I'm channeling my inner Windhorst "why would the Jazz do that?"
