Jazz are better than the Celtics

Marcus Smart doesn't get an extension and it was in part due to Luxury Tax concerns. I will laugh so hard if they do a salary dump to get under the tax or let guys walk for concerns of paying tax.

Gordo - You signed with a snake... wait until they decide to sell you to the highest bidder when Tatum and Brown are ready.

Anyone think this is what Gordo though he was signing up for... being marginalized for Kyrie and his team clipping coupons.

I know all of this is really premature... I just want to take shots while I can.

Im with you!

I hope he gets traded to the Pelicans as part of a package for Davis.

Kyrie
Brown
Tatum
Davis
Noel (Just a guess but Centre's are going cheap these days)

Also, how much is being a perimeter scorer going to hurt his scoring??? Without the ball in his hands will he get a chance to go to the FT line as often?? I know it was preseason and he didnt want the contact but he got almost zero trips to the line...

Again, I don't think Hayward went there for team success. He went there to make the All Star team and be on TV more.

Man. **** that dude. He looks like that biggest **** smoker with that new hairdo btw. Makes me laugh every time I see him. ****ing loser!

This is a fun thread, Ive laughed a lot reading these comments so thanks everyone (two thumbs up)

Also, I'd love for the locker room to blow up because Hayward becomes the coaches pet (ie; coach has to step in to make sure Hayward is getting his shots and that the other players share the ball with him) and the other players revolt.

His registering as a shooting guard for all star consideration seems to confirm this. Shooting guards in the East are really weak.

Registering? This isn't voting in primaries. I don't think players register themselves for a position.

We need to sponsor a JazzFanz member to get good at League of Legends and completely beat Haywood's *** there too.

No, your team decides. And they are listing Haywood as a SG even though he is clearly starting as SF. I'm fairly certain Haywood had some input there. . .

How is he clearly the starting SF when he is starting next to two other SF's (who are both longer than Hayward)? They are correct to list him as the starting SG if he is indeed starting next to Tatum and Brown (though I think they plan to start Morris when he gets healthy).

The way Ainge is I wonder if Hayward was smart enough to ask for a no trade clause.

He played his hand and ended up with; Kyrie, Brown, Hayward, Tatum & Baynes... And he got Hayward for FREE!

or has he still to play his hand??

I wouldn't call Hayward free......

Hayward wouldn't qualify for a no trade clause. I think it's only 10 yrs in league, 5 with same team that can negotiate one.

Close. According to here it's "NBA players are only eligible for an outright no-trade clause in their contracts after spending eight seasons in the league -- at least four with the same team -- and only when the clause is specifically negotiated into a new deal as opposed to an extension to a previous contract"

I don't think he was eligible for one or he would have asked.

So 10-5 was in the previous CBA or I'm thinking something baseball related.

A couple of thoughts:
-no free agent should be able to have a no trade clause in their new contract unless they're signing with a team that has their bird rights
-if the Jazz and Celtics end up with the same record despite the fact incredible disparity in conference quality, then the Jazz wouldn't just be a little bit better, and the Celtics would and should come under fire.

They have registered Brown as a SG as well. . .

Seems wild that the Celtics, who are in a top 10 market, would be that worried about the LT.

Nearly everyone is. Maybe not the first or second year, but once that repeater tax kicks in. even the richest are starting to cringe. Look at the Cavs dumping Jefferson. Perhaps the Warriors will be forced to choose between Green and Thompson.
