What's new

jazz at +1.5 vs celtics tonight...

Lillard was picked 6th in 2012, not 4th. GS picked 7th. Had we owned the pick, we would have had the 8th pick--two spots behind where Lillard was taken. Andre Drummond, and possibly Harrison Barnes, would have been available.

And with that 8th pick, and lillard being from utah, maybe we package the 8th pick with something else and move up too get lillard.

Who knows.
All I know is that gs tanked harder than any team I have ever seen

I'm watching the game on TV now. The replay of the bench celebration as they go to commercial break is much better than the one I saw posted to this thread before. Boooker's pistol act is great. Burke chips in with a golf clap.

I remember a play like the second one you are talking about.
Marcus smart went to the hoop to attempt a lay up on a fast break and hood pretended like he was going to challenge it and then backed off as smart started to jump.
Smart was expecting contact and missed the shot due to hood faking the challenge.
Hood didn't touch him at all. Not even a little bit.
Ref called the foul on hood
I think it was in the last minute before the half. Thomas drove past Booker. Book chased from behind and tried to block the ball by swinging his arm over Isaiah's head, but missed everything. The shot went in and the whistle blew. Thomas made the free throw. They replayed it on the jumbotron and the angle showed that Booker never even touched Thomas. You could see space between them for the entire play. The crowd went crazy.

Worst call of the night was calling a shooting foul from half court there was plenty of time on bother the game, and shot lock. Thomas was grabbed then threw the ball at the hoop. There was no way he was in the act of shooting. All the ref needed to do was use common sense that there was no way Thomas was going to shoot the ball from half ****ing court with over 6 mins in the quarter and 20 seconds on the shot clock. Lmao.

I do recall that draft being particularly tough to make a trade for a high pick I do recall many rumors of trades that would go down, and the first pick traded was something like pick 18. I doubt we would've pulled anything off

Feast on the comments from the forums of our vanquished foes from Boston:

I wish the Celtics would push the pace a little more. Utah doesn't like to run anyway and they played last night in Washington and traveled. Maybe the lack of legs will show up in the 4th.

I didn't know we are up against the Warriors with all these threes being made at such a high percentage. Sucks when scrubs like Ingles and whoever that point guard is are making threes

I will say this though - Utah's head coach has fantastic hair. If I ever get reincarnated as a white man, I pray that I have the same hair as Quin Snyder.

I wanted Hood over Young in the draft and I still do now

Imagine if the Celtics had Gobert at the back end of the behind Smart, Bradley and Crowder? Man.... I love watching him play. The shot altering is unreal and he knows what to do when the ball gets to him on offense too. Doesn't need to be a shooter to add some value there.

Gobert causing some serious problems.

Whenever Gobert is out, you have to attack the rim over and over. Take advantage of him being on the bench.

Their defense just too good.

F****** Ingles

We can't do nothing in the paint when Gobert is there unless we bully our way like Smart just did.

How did Gobert fly under the radar completely? Medicals? He's a monster. And he doesn't exactly blend into a crowd.

please no more national televised games

Neto is unstoppable tonight,

Neto wtf

Quin always looks like he's coming down off meth.

Utah front line is just too big.

Well if Raul Neto beats us there's really nothing we can do.

gotta grind on every position - Jazz D is pretty darn good und doesnt allow any kind of runs

Have our guys never seen Gobert play?

Turner is getting burned by Hayward.

Yep. The ball ricocheted to Neto and he was already on his way up court when the whistle blew.

Pretty bad. Regarding the whistle and half court shot-I have watched tons of games and have seen players attempt to get FTs in similar situations. Many technically could have been called as shooting based on continuation. This is the first time where I have seen FTs awarded when it was not a short clock situation.

Joe telegraphed the foul too much. Yeah it was an iffy call but not the worst ever. A foul like that isn't exactly in the flow of the game. It's a calculated foul, so increased risk.

Are we talking about the half-court foul? I absolutely agree with the officials. Fouling on fast-breaks has become so predictable, if the person goes into the act of shooting it should count as a shooting foul. Just sucks they called it so late, but it was the right call. I'd like to see teams go for fake fouls and see if the players actually shoot.

Probably a good play. Might trick the offensive player into a travel if done just right. Unfortunately the officials would be far easier to trick and they'd probably end up blowing their whistle even though there was no contact.
