What's new

Jazz at Clippers

Great game to introduce the Jazz to some new peeps - they may be fans now! Wow! Missed most of the game but watched the entire 4th. Mitchell dunk was lit, I saw Ingles dropping dimes and looking at the box score he was Jinglin hard from downtown.

Who says the midrange is dead?

Everytime Mitchell gets criticized it lights his fire. Love oh Donny! Clarkson no turnovers, Joe just 1

Exactly. I don’t find it a coincidence that Jingles and our offense have come alive and our team has won more with Conley out and Mitchell at the 1. I already asked @SCS to provide us with stats on how we’re better with Conley. I’m still waiting for a response even though I’ve seen he’s posted since I asked him for his stats.
M. Conley, .B. Bogdanovic, .R. Gobert, .R. O'Neale, .D. Mitchell has 16.4 net rating on 254 minutes which is our most played line-up.

Even the Clippers' announcers (Eagle and Maggette tonight) said "No Haggle" Mitchell is going to the Allstar Game this year.

ohhh cool! Is that good? What’s our net rating with our current starting lineup? And is that rating good?

For everyone worried about Conley coming back...

Him back means Royce goes to the bench, which means Royce will eat up some of Niang’s minutes at the 4. Also with Conley back, he’ll get some burn with our bench units, and Mudiay’s minutes will go down.

Conley makes us deeper, top to bottom, and allows us to reduce the minutes of Ingles and Donovan, not to mention two other guys that need their time on the floor minimized.

Royce at 6'4" isn't a 4. Niang will still play. This is not a good thing.

Mudiay isn't a problem any more now he's learnt to share. His +/- tonight was bad but a lot of that comes from sharing the floor with Niang.

The problem isn’t getting conley integrated. The problem is that Conley is a horrific fit. The problem is two folded:

1. He needs the ball to be effective. But taking the ball out of Mitchell’s hands is asinine.

2. Playing he and Mitchell together make us too small and a defensive liability.

Conley would look okay if Mitchell and jingles weren’t here. If he could be the primary scorer, I’m sure he’d look decent. But this isn’t a lottery bound Memphis team.

If I were Lindsey, I’d be doing everything possible to unload Conley for some serviceable (bigger) parts.

Like GVC said, Blake Griffin.

Lol Conley for Blake or anybody worth value... Why would anybody trade anything of value if Conley was as bad as many of you make him out to be? If Conley has value why would the Jazz who have tried to trade for him more than once suddenly get rid of a guy that they value? It make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Despite being 6’4”, he’s been playing the 4 for us. And Niang is playing the four because the guys are slower on average. Other than that there’s nothing about Niang that’s a PF. Royce rebounds more than him and can defend anyone better than Niang.

I'm not saying Mike's bad, but we look awfully thin at the 4-5.

Anyone who is suggesting Blake hasnt watched Griffin this year, at all.

He's awful and his body is breaking down. Even in his elite years, he always broke down at the end of the year. He's also a terrible fit on Utah.

This is good and correct... but still need to address that backup center issue imo... now that we don’t have Dante’s deal imma have to figure it out with Ed and other salaries... I wonder if Mudiay has any trade value... I wish we had a team option on him for next year.

A lot of 4's in the NBA are 3's, so it doesnt matter that much.

And Mudiay is still a problem. Look at his last half-possession. He dribbled around aimlessly for half the shot clock and Quin jumps up furious to call TO to yank him from the game (suck it people who said that only happened to Dante). Mudiay's problem isnt willingness to pass, it's just simply running the offense the way Quin likes. He's getting better, but he still has these really bad moments were he reverts to bad habits.
