Jazz at the Pesky Wolves - Tonight - Oct. 20th 6 PM

I guarantee that if (when!) the Jazz win, the national discussion will be about gel-time and chemistry stuff with the Wolves, not the legitimacy of the Jazz.

Also, I'm not sure any Jazzmen are really caring much about "attention" at this stage of the season.

At this point the most attention we should expect is a brief mention on Zach Lowe's podcast.

ESPN released their projections on division winners and personal awards. Gobert led in DPOY, Hood got MIP votes, Snyder got COY votes, Mitchell got ROY votes and the Jazz got 1 vote to win the NW.

I think this is going to be a big test for Favors. We will really need his 'A' game tonight.
On that note, who plays the 4 for the wolves? Georgie dieng? If so then I think gobert should guard him and favors should guard towns so rudy doesn't have to go as far from the hoop. (Towns likes taking 3's)

taj gibson. favors will waste him

Players like KAT could be jazz killers, who is going to guard him on the perimeter? JJ? He can blow right by favors and gobert. Our only hope it seems is he has a bad shooting night... yikes! Heres to Udoh maybe!

I think Favs might be one of the best guys in the league that could guard him. Enough size to hold his own around the basket and great pateral movement when he is healthy.

I was really encouraged by the Denver game. That is the kind of team that should score on us... two good perimeter bigs and shooters. We can pack the paint tonight and make them beat us from outside.

I would start off with Favs on KAT and Rudy on Taj. It'll be interesting to see if Udoh can replicate his defense from the Denver game.

Another great moment in Jazz-Wolves history, a thrilling double-OT victory for the Jazz!

A loss would've left the Jazz with the fourth-worst record in the league. But because they won and Boston lost, the Jazz are tied with the Celtics, which will bring a coin flip tie-breaker before the draft lottery is held to determine who will have the greater chance to move up.

The Jazz certainly didn't play to lose on Wednesday night.

"It's a positive note to go out on, we got a lot of room to grow though, and we got to make sure we understand what gave us a chance to win tonight, that's staying together, working hard together, making sure we're focused on the attention to details," Corbin said.

In other great news... my wife is going to some HS homecoming football game tonight... this means no dirty looks as we are wrapping up our dinner date and I am trying to get back to the DVR to watch the game. Friday night games I usually don't get to watch until after 10... will be live tonight with guilt free watching.

Things are looking good guys!

favors usually guarded kat and gobert was on dieng. i think gobert will be on taj tonight

Now someone needs to explain how KAT and Taj are going to defend Gobert and Favors. Gobert will eclipse 20 tonight unless Favors goes for 30. Booker it!

First road game against a very talented team who, on paper, is better than the jazz. Good thing they don't determine winners on paper.

Should be a good tough game.

I predict it goes a lot like our first game..... we trail most of the time but stay close. Wear em down with depth. Stop em out at the finish for a nice victory
On paper the starters might be better. But the Jazz are deeper. The bench has the ability to outplay their opposing backups by 15 (or more) every game, just as they did with Denver. So I'm not totally in agreement with you that Minny is a better team.

Also think many evaluate on basis of offensive stats. Defense isn't sexy, but often prevails.

The challenge will be defending the individual match-ups. Minnesota isn't a great passing team or particularly great shooting team. They still rely on some of their individual match-ups, so it's going to be a test to see if we can guard Towns, Butler and Wiggins well enough to pull out a win.

I think between Favor's and Udoh we can slow down Kat just fine. Plus Kat can't guard Gobert or block him out. We even have Jerebko to throw at him and be physical/rough him up. I think we match up great with this team. I think Wiggins will be a handful tonight for is though. I think he is going to be more solid this year.

You better be posting more in the gamethread while the game is being played then.
