Jazz @ Blazers - Dec 6th - 8PM MST

Seems like Jazzfanz forum is in mid season form with their bipolar reaction to each game. Some of you are going to need counseling soon if you don't take a deep breath and realize there will be plenty of games like this for a while.

Just to remind you but S&M and company put up some stinker games. They got destroyed in the finals by the Bulls. I think it was over 35 pts. Games like this happen even to great teams let alone to a team with a starting five with guys 23 under.

Games like this also show how far the team needs to go. A team cannot be a true contender until they win consistently on the road. This Jazz team is no where near being able to compete on the road not even with a Parker type player. Jazz need to hit two home runs in the draft and then sign a very good FA.

WHY AM I WATCHING THIS???

Really though, Burke should at least be in there.

Why? The game is lost. What would happen to this board if Ty kept any of the starters especially Burke in the lineup and they got injured. The Ty hate would reach epic proportions.

Disagree.

The Jazz have a very good core and two really good players off of the bench.
They're missing that one superstar that can bring those close games into the win column.

Two big fixes here.
A new coach, and a superstar draft pick.

Man I'm confused. I'm supposed to be pessimistic about the tank because we are optimistic about the jazz on a night the jazz got blown out by 32?

This season can't get over soon enough, I want life to be simple again...you know, celebrate a win, call for Corbin's head after a loss, blame Dennis, and make crazy trade threads.

Ya, definitely bizzaro season.

The reason I am worried about the tank has absolutely nothing to do with this game. This was an absolute nothing game for me in evaluating the tank. We were never ever going to win this game.

Tanks don't get ruined by beating one of the best teams in the NBA on their home court, they get ruined by beating bad teams on the road and marginal teams at home. Those are the games that will tell us about the tank.

Getting blown out by Portland on the road has nothing to do with my thinking that we will beat most average teams we play at home, and our fair share of bad teams on the road.

Yep. Tyrone is a terrible coach. I see zero reasons he should remain a head coach at any level.
Players seem to regress. He is a terrible in game coach. He plays odd combinations of players.
He hasn't gotten better with any of these parts of his repertoire. The players seem to be losing confidence and seem confused or possibly just don't care to play this system. He seems to heavily favor vets instead of the youth which is my understanding of what they were supposed to be doing this year.
It is embarrassing having him as the leader of "my" team.

Man 17-23 from 3 pt land. You are not going to beat or compete allowing 55 % FG, 73% 3Pt, 87% FT.

I had no idea you could "allow" 87% ft shooting. Lol. Man, they were just shooting lights out tonight. And the crazy thing is that while a lot of the threes were open, even the contested ones were falling. That was just an epic offensive performance by the blazers.

I agree.

Which is why tonight's game is so important. If the Queens can dump us on our home court I'll be more inclined to say that the tank is still alive and well.

I wasn't able to watch the game...was it as ugly as the score seemed? I know Portland is a top team this year and all, but dang. Still scratching my head on why our starters got so few minutes, especially Burke? Makes me sad

I'm sick and tired of the Jazz giving up so many uncontested free throws. It's like they are just standing in a row saying to the opposing player, "Go ahead and shoot it. We're not even going to try and stop you." Half the time they don't even go for a rebound and if by some miracle the ball does bounce right into their hands they just give it right back to the ref. Sheesh!

in only 16 minutes

It wasn't just the amount of time Burke spent on the court it was the lack of quality time on the court. As I pointed out before the main reason you guys started finally looking respectable was when Burke had the ball in his hands making decisions. Trey was a little overly aggressive offensively to start then it's like Corbin removed him of his ball handling duties and gave them to Hayward and Burks who up to this point have shown to be much better playing off ball.

You would think you would want Burke good, bad, or ugly to get time head up against the better PG's. Burke has shown great BBall IQ and have been adjusting his game accordingly. Why not give him the opportunity to do so last night?
