If Wiki is to be believed:

1. The name you're referring to is Persian. As such, using the Turkish spelling, especially on a Utah Jazz message board, is odd.

2. Apparently Shabazz can also be another, unrelated name of "Arabic" origin (sort of).

In short, the dude's name is "Shabazz".

Sorry If this really annoyed you. The name could be Persian but used also in Turkish. Whatever... Shabazz is a benchwarmer. That's the more important point.

I don't know that the former is true, but the latter is hilarious as this thread was resurrected in the last hour and I don't think even PKM in his posting prime is going to check every single thread, anyway.
 
I didn't like Shabazz, but I also didn't think he'd fall to #14 in any scenario. The NBA as a whole is getting smarter.
 
I saw film on him before last years draft. And he was slow in the videos I saw of him. So glad we didn't waste our pic on him.

That happens. My dad's name is a common Albanian name-- and that originated from Persia as well (and likely came from Turkish occupation).
 
Your telling me a guy named "Shabazz Muhammad" is just the player we need to turn this franchise around??? Why not "D'Jasper Probin Crux the III"? or maybe "Hingle McCringleberry"

I only read the first page of this thread and sure hope we can get this Shabazz guy. He sounds great.
