What's new

Jazz @ Clippers October 24th, 8:30 PM Mountain Time

DM ain't slow he needs to learn the NBA game. He gets where he wants to go but almost goes too fast and doesn't quite know what to do when he gets there.

He will figure it out. Making a jump shot tonight will help.

He scores 20 tomorrow and it will be kind of efficient... not super efficient though.

His efficiency will go up as soon as he starts getting to the line. Didn't get a couple calls tonight.

Gobert once again leads the team in negative +/- (tied with Rubio) at -26. Something just ain't right with Rudy. I don't see the energy, don't see the swagger, don't see the rebounding. He's been largely ineffective.

Gobert looked like he was sick or played half assed tonight. His fire wasn't there.

That happens a lot with him against Jordan. Jordan isnt too far off in length, and he has a big advantage in strength and explosiveness.

I think it's also partly Doc knows exactly how to guard Gobert, maybe in part from seeing how teams guard Jordan.

Mitchell took 20 shots...2X more than next highest attempts Burks at 10 and Rubio 10. I think we need to involve our big men more.

Jordan is a tough matchup. He's a large human being. If Rudy comes off to contest he gets rebound dunks.

Gobert needs to start playing full effort if we want to play better. I'm not sure why but he is playing at 75% effort so far this season.

Agreed. Also if we make some shots it opens things up. Clips could pack it in tonight without being punished at all.

Yea, I don't take too much away from this game, but he has looked nothing like the Rudy we're used to seeing. I don't know if it comes down to the opposition adjusting to him or if he is just out of rhythm, but he has not dominated for any extended stretch in these first 4 games.

Donovan is a goddamn specimen. 7' wingspan, fastest sprint times in the combine, 40.5 inch vertical, same height and weight as Westbrook, Lillard, etc.

6'3", with that wingspan, vert, and speed, are more than adequate for a 1/2 combo guard, and through the first few games he's actually shown some glimpses of strong passing and vision.

he's confident, and fearless. his shots just aren't falling through the beginning of the season, and he's been making some questionable decisions. those will pass with time. still very high on DM.

Repped.

That's not the reason he set half *** screens and didn't box out often along with other stuff. Jordan is a handful, but there is more going on with him.

Every game, I believe, he's "led" the team in negative +/-. This isn't just one game. He's not even the best center on the team right now.

Having more consistent shooters on the team would probably spread the floor and help his demeanor more. I'm not seeing his fire this year. Not sorry if that offends anyone.

He has a very long wingspan, but its 6'10" for accuracy. Only posting this since its the second or third time I've seen it written tonight.

Next possession, blows right by him without a screen.

He's never looked slow. He gets where he wants to. He just hasn't figured out how to set guys up and finish... I guess he might need a few games to figure it out. Maybe Archie should be patient.

Compare it to JJ who knows how to get where he wants but also reads and manipulates the defense. It will come... rookies rarely play a meaningful role on winning teams and it is largely about the mental side of the game.

Everyone be encouraged that shots went in and that he gets where he wants... he will get better and better as the season goes.
