What's new

Jazz @ Clippers October 24th, 8:30 PM Mountain Time

Three things really peed me off about this game.

1) Ingles - shoot the open three. It almost feels like it has something to do with the %
2) Quin seems to have a knack for putting some players in positions where they are destined to fail! (Turning Rubio into a shoot first gunner. Dante Exum - enough said)
3) Mitchell - allowed to jack up shots like it is a family get together. It's not that throwing them up is in itself bad - it's the fact that it became garbage time, non structured Mitchell hour. Imagine if some other certain players had been given such a leash!

Sheesh!

Donovan is a goddamn specimen. 7' wingspan, fastest sprint times in the combine, 40.5 inch vertical, same height and weight as Westbrook, Lillard, etc.

6'3", with that wingspan, vert, and speed, are more than adequate for a 1/2 combo guard, and through the first few games he's actually shown some glimpses of strong passing and vision.

he's confident, and fearless. his shots just aren't falling through the beginning of the season, and he's been making some questionable decisions. those will pass with time. still very high on DM.

Eh...

No one is really trying that hard to guard him atm though

Neg yourself Richard Kranium. Anyone making judgements on a dude 2-3 games in is just a mental giant. You're just not very astute in your comments.

But come on dude. Fairs fair. Apparently it was ok to anoint him the next 'Dame with defense' after SL and a Lakers preseason game?

Re: Mitchell

I think he is going to be a very good NBA player. He has a mental fortitude and presence about everything he does. He has a can do attitude and ability.

I love the fact that at around the time he was 1/10 he contributed to a foul on Williams - went over and helped him up and then could be heard saying 'that's on me to his teammates'. I think indicating that it was his fault that Lou had slipped into the paint. There seems to be no BS with the kid. He won't pull others down to get a leg up.

Mind you, I wish Exum had half the leash Mitchell gets :(

In related news, apparently just after Dante's surgery started today, Quin called the surgeon and demanded s/he operate on Shelvin Mack instead.

True story!

Some Aussie Lavar Ball-esque butthurts up in hurr after Donovan Mitchell had a good game.

Exactly then he backtracks. Common sense tells us Mitchell is struggling, we all agree on that. Its the absurdity of his comments that bring the haet.
I honestly don't have a problem with the content of most of his comments. In fact I agree with a lot of what he says.

It's the repetition of his comments that bother me. Same thing over and over.

I think what people are annoyed with is that complaining about Mitchell's play is almost exclusively what you've done. To the point where it feels like a gimmick.

It's okay to criticize the rookie, but you seem obsessed with it.
Ya I think he might be trolling tbh.

Ooh, idk about that. Dante's D at the point was in his first year was a pretty big factor in Rudy's breakout.

DM has shown more potential though.

I can't help but feel when Rudy is ignored on offense it impacts his defense.

He didn't get a sniff of a shot until the end of the 1st (I think) and only had 5 shots for the game.
I understand DJ had a fair bit to do with that.

No, it wasn't. DM has been very good defensively and show more offensive flashes than Dante has so far. I am not even down on Exum either. Mitchell has a lot to learn but he is going to be an all star.
