Jazz fanz - rejoice!!! (re: Boozer)

Agreed,but....

a certain Kanter comes to my mind actually.

Kanter's mental lapses drive me crazy. I do however, believe that there is hope for Kanter defensively in the long haul. Because it is dumb mistakes, mental lapses, missing fundamentals and inconsistency. Boozer cared about his numbers (board and points) and the next contract. He was never committed to improving his D because it did not show up on stat sheets. Kanter, on the other hand, infuriating as he can be, does seem to have the grit and attitude to work through mistakes and improve. Just show us, dammit!

So it isn't ok for him to bring this up but then other Jazz fans talk about wanting to bring back AK or Korver. He is entitled to his opinion and I agree with him. Thank goodness that Boozer isn't with the Jazz.

First of all... No one has made any threads about AK or Korver. Second... Any mention about any of those other players are back talk from threads made for different topics.

Boozer was only a second round pick in the draft. Some talent scouts saw some holes in his game way back when.

It's unlikely Favors or Kanter are ever as good as prime Jazz-era Boozer.

I'll admit that the most prominent thing I know about Thibodeau is that he's willing to sit Boozer. This is why I'd like the guy. Not because of some Boozer hate, but because he breaks the mold that everyone gets into of "well this guy is one of our best players and he needs to okay always" thinking. It's refreshing to see someone approach the big picture.

Flame away.
So...Thibs would play Kanter even less than Corbin?

IAWTP. No one thrived defensively under Corbin. Did Utah have 15 "me-first" players who should all be traded or was the coaching perhaps not up to par? I'd like to evaluate all Utah's players under a different coach before making a final judgment. At least with Sloan, we KNEW a player could be fairly evaluated. Under Ty, everyone just looks lost out there.

So if the bulls offered a future 1st round pick for taking on the bad Boozer contract are the Jazz interested?

Team him up with Jim Boylen maybe?

Oh please, every time the hawks play people whine about letting Korver go and yes threads have been made. Geez when AK was a free agent before he signed with the Nets people were talking about bringing him back. So maybe you didn't but the forum is filled with bring back this player.. heck some people talked about bringing Malone and Stockton back during the DW years.

Because scouts are ALWAYS right and players that get drafted in the 2nd-round are always worse than players in the 1st round. The draft is a crap shoot beyond a handful of top picks. And even then, some of the top-3 or 5 turn out to be busts. For all the measurements, evaluations, workouts and interviews, it still comes down to calculated risk. GM's are trying to increase their odds of getting an NBA-quality player and decrease the odds that pick will be a bust. And it's gotten even harder with the one-and-done model. Players are already hyped as future all-stars before they've even stepped on a college court. And only the worst of seasons will knock them off that mountain. I can almost guarantee a couple of players picked in the teens or 20's will be as good or almost as good as those picked in the early lottery. And several players picked in the top-10 will underwhelm or be complete busts.

Nope. There are usually a few teams wanting to sell late 1st's, although not in this draft, for $3M. Only way I see Jazz taking on a bad contract is if Lindsey strikes out on FA's, or trades he may have been working on fall through. Then he could make a trade like that to reach the salary floor. But it won't be Boozer. Carlos burned every overpass in Salt Lake during his stay.

just read that the lakers might be interested in boozer.

hahaha he would be perfect with dantoni's no defense all offense

Id make that trade for both there picks. 16 & 19 then try and move up with some combo of r picks. Or keep them all and go super young/rookie bench. Save your cap flexibility, add some potential rotation players and really rebuild with all your young guys. With a new coach in place.

If the Bulls were willing to give up 2 first round picks in an effort to trade Boozer instead of amnestying him or in need of a third team to facilitate a Carmelo deal with NY, I would certainly hope that the Jazz would seriously consider that.

It will be interesting to see how our better defenders look under a new coach - GH (if he comes back) and Favors. I think Favors will see more action when our wings do a better job of guarding the three (especially the corner 3).

I'm not a big fan of his by any means, but if that draft were redone with what we know now he'd probably be a top 3 pick, or at the very least a top 5. The scouts who rightly saw what an awful defender he was didn't see what a damn good offensive player/rebounder he was either.

You think Dantoni will be there next year?
Yes. Lakers have already announced he'll return.
Besides, with him on board, Gasol will definitely leave. And I think LA wants that to happen, but doesn't want to offend Kobe as Gasol is his BFF, despite some love spats they've had here and there. There are no big name FA's available (well, besides Anthony and Hayward). Nash comes off the books after next season and LA likely goes after two MAX FA's to pair with Kobe for another couple of years. Two MAX FA's added to a lottery pick this summer and next...that's a pretty good team.

Interesting. I thought for sure they'd kick him to the curb.
