Paying $12m to one of, if not the best, backup 5's in the league is definitely something a contender does...if they can afford it. Especially when you have a starting 5 who has missed 20-25 games in two of the past three years. 12/8 in 28 mins is pretty good, considering he isn't featured in the offense. He gets half his mins backing up Gobert and spot starting when Rudy is hurt.
I don't get this at all. I thought he was great until the statistics were shown over and over again about how Gobert took an awful team and made them better when he came back from injury. In other words, we didn't play like we wanted to play with Favors as our 5. I would bet that our defense ran more normally when Udoh was at the 5. Regardless, every single stat said we were amazing with Gobert and awful without him.
