Jazz Free Agency Summer of 2018

Dante... should it be strange we haven't heard more about that?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong:
Qualifying offers and RFA... how it works is, you make him a QO at a predetermined amount, (roughly $5 mil, in this case) and that gives you the rights to match any offer. If he doesn't get offered, you have to reach a deal OR he plays on that QO for one year and becomes UFA next year, correct?

It doesn't take 5 hours to meet with a guy who has been on the team for 7 years.

My guess is that the Jazz may be working a sign-and-trade.
Really? You think Dennis and Quin are going to fly all the way to Atlanta and just spend 5 minutes with Faves?

5 hours is reasonable, shows a level of respect by not taking him for granted and making a proper sales pitch.

Edit: Or 3 hours with a 2-hour lunch break.

The word on the street was that Jazz wanted to lock him down early to get his caphold off the books.

To me both are reasonable possibilities. Unfortunately we will never really know what was said.

So, if for some reason we are wrong and Favs bounces tomorrow, who is DL’s first phone call? Parker? Denver (take Faried as a dump)? Bjelica? Bertans?

Other than Parker, everyone else seems like a major step back.

Yes, I think you got that exactly right.
