Welcome Back!

Roll out the red carpet and uncork the fine wine. Unconfirmed Twitter messengers have confirmed that Greg Miller’s planned announcement is to introd… er, re-introduce former Jazzmen Ronnie Brewer and Jarron Collins to their 2010-11 team. Brewer and Collins are expected to replace several key personnel losses this offseason, including Wesley Matthews, whose offer from Portland is not expected to be matched. The announcement is scheduled to take place at the Energy Solutions Arena at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon.

The Report states that Brewer was offered $10 million for 2 years of service. Collins will be acquired as part of a sign and trade. Utah will send Phoenix a protected second round darft pick along with a trade exception acquired from the Oklahoma Thunder last season. In return, the Jazz will receive the services of the veteran big man, who will come at a cost of somewhere between $10-12 million over the next 3 seasons.

A Source within the organization stated that the Jazz are not done wheeling and dealing just yet though. V.P. of Operations, Grand Harrison, stated that although Collins’ acquisition has satisfied Utahr’s desire to help replace Carlos Boozer’s minutes, the Jazz are still looking to add a third point guard to share minutes with Ronnie Price.

Finally, on an unrelated note, former Jazzman Matt Harpring was spotted tossing around a football with fellow forwards CJ Miles and Gordon Hayward earlier today at Pioneer Park. Is Harpring also contemplating a return? Stay tuned…

Regardless of what Greg Miller announces tomorrow... at least it'll be an improvement from this scenario :)

So its not the Al Jefferson trade, its bring back two former Jazzmen in Jarron 'The Tree' Collins and Ronnie 'Can't Shoot Jumpers' Brewer?

STANDING OVATION!

Good stuff, insidejazzman. Only thing funnier would have been a fake news report with the "Welcome Back" music in the background. Still, well-played, son.
