Somehow I doubt that.
Joe seems like a face value type of guy. When he says he hopes to stay and sign a deal July 1, I believe him. As long as the offer is fair from the Jazz, which I'm pretty sure it will be, I think he signs.
The jazz are still free to negotiate a real contract with him. What happens if he doesn't get any other offers? Does he get stuck on the qualifying offer or can the incumbent team then bump up their own offer ?
Face value only means so much when another teams comes in offering 4 million more per year.
Regardless of what happens with Hayward/Hill, I think that Jingles and the Jazz work out a deal. I have no idea what the numbers will be. . . but I'm confident that they'll keep him.Ingles has shown improvement every year, he leads the team in deflections, plus pesky defense and one of the top 3 pt % in the league. Plus he's a terrific glue guy. That's going to draw some interest.
