Jazz go down again in 4th WHY?

It does seem like we give games away a lot in the last minutes. Anyone have any stats on that?
How about going from #1 4th quarter in Jan defense to #30 in feb. https://weareutahjazz.com/lockedonjazz/2012/02/27/breakdown-how-have-the-jazz-gone-from-best-to-last-in-4th-quarter-defense/
Jan opp fg 38.5%, pts allowed 21.1
Feb opp fg 48.5%, pts allowed 26.5

I thought Locke was had some pretty straight analysis re sacto, a couple of excerpts:
The key moment everyone is going to talk about is the game was tied when Millsap and Jefferson checked back into the game and the Jazz promptly allowed two layups fell behind and never recovered. This is not the first time this has happened recently.
If Al is not having a great offensive night he doesn’t change the game in any other fashion. Tonight Al shot 6/14 and scored 12 points. When your top shot taker scores less points than field goal attempts you will almost never win. Jefferson’s splits tell the story, he shots 44% in losses and 52% in wins.
Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap didn’t go to the free throw line
The Jazz desperately need to help Millsap and Jefferson on the glass.
DeMarcus Cousins completely man-handled Jefferson inside. [snip] The only person who defended him and bothered him all night was Kanter.
Jazz allowed a 50% 4th quarter performance.
Harris and Burks were great in the 4th quarter – while Jefferson and Millsap combined for 0 for 4.

He says that playing vets is losing its credibility, which I think is pretty clear now that we are not winning and clearly not contending. That was the most biased comment that I saw.

How about several bad calls against us. It looked like the refs were intentionally making the bad calls to give Sac the game -- like Burks out of bounds. You could see it on TV from a distance that he obviously wasn't out and the ref was right on the spot and called it. Either he is blind or his reflex is to call in favor of the home team because that is the NBA MOD on how to ref a game, and if it is, it could account for the lopsided results in favor of home teams in the NBA.

or how about our team shows no intestinal fortitude?

How about we're just not very good, at all?

Burks?

Our starting bigs didn't get to the damn FT line once. Cousins alone nearly doubled our starting bigs in rebounding. Our starting bigs go 8-20 (40 percent and NO FTs) and yet you have the nerve to blame Burks?????????

Burks had more rebounds than Millsap, almost as many points than Al (with half the shots), and actually got to the FT line.

If you blame this loss on any shape or form on Burks, then you are either a complete dumbass, didn't watch this game (or see the box score), or are a Lakers/Heat fan.

Which are you?

And our players who actually get to the line can't hit FT's lol. What a conundrum.

Highlighted by Cousins going out of his way to shoulder Harris any chance he gets. Once? Ok whatever. Twice? naw man you drop a knee into his crotch as you drive. After he gets up you stare him down the entire way up the court.

plus Burks was being fouled at the time

Totally agree with this. In keeping with Ty's 4th quarter pattern, he let the precious vets come in and choke the 4th quarter. The exception to that last night would have been Harris. Surprise!

I don't blame Ty so much as the players. You SHOULD feel confident going to your vets late in a close game. They SHOULD be the ones you rely on to pull off a win. But for whatever reason they don't have the fire or the ability to do that. But Ty...vets or not, they should sit on the bench and watch the young guys play with guts to finish the game. Since the vets would likely lose the game anyway, why not give the young'uns a shot at finishing?

They need to fire kevin o connor for trading 3 first round picks for jefferson and refusing to trade him away.

We are officially the old timberwolves

I guess this could be a blessing for us that the vets are going to tank the season, so we get a good pick. But id rather watch the young guys do it
