Jazz in 6

Not gonna lie, I feel rejuvenated. That was a must win game that went our way, but we actually saw Quin Snyder coach a basketball game and that is giving (likely false) hope.

I said this before the series started, but to me it almost didn't matter whether or not Luka was going to play. I felt that the Jazz were the better team either way, but they beat themselves time and time again. That's why they're so frustrating to watch. If Quin is actually going to coach this series and the players are going to compete I think they can win.

If Conley and Royce get the same amount of minutes and produce the same amount of nothing then Quin is clueless. Maybe he'll learn though.

The Jazz now has to bench mIkE cOnlEy to win a playoffs series. Who would've thought this in 2019

I think Quin should phase out Conley and play more Paschall instead. He didn't have the best luck in his short stint today, but his power game inside can be really punishing against DAL. I'd rather let Paschall be a wrecking ball than watch Conley try to beat these guys off the dribble anymore. Paschall is also a good matchup defending Brunson and maybe even Luka. Those guys are using their strength more than quickness and Paschall can body them up like Bogey is doing.

I honestly don't see much of a role for Conley in this series except for giving Mitchell a rest. He's not giving us anything on offense and his defense is atrocious.

What gives me hope is that he finally benched both. Even during the defense only possession he did not sub O'Neale back in. It's time to bury the idea the O'Neale can guard. Better late than never I guess.

I mean I'm not making excuses for Conley but he was getting good looks just not hitting them. I think he will make them here on in. If not put in Clarkson and Paschall

If Quin making adjustments was the secret weapon Bojan talked about…

What those late-game lineup shows me is that Quin sees everything we see (and probably a whole lot more [obviously]), but that ultimately the driver in his decision on who to play is managing the feelings/psyche of certain players more than others.

I can’t entirely fault that, but it feels like he finally did the right thing at the absolute last moment and maybe he could’ve done some of that a little earlier.

The key to winning the rest of the series is limiting Royce’s minutes or taking them away altogether. He’s been our worst defender on the entire team this series.

You're probably right. There's a human element to these decisions, but I'm glad Quin finally said "**** it" and went for the win. Maybe too late....but at least I can enjoy this last run with some hope. Luka is an incredible player, but I think the Jazz playing closer to their potential instead of whatever they've been doing is just as big of a factor. Luka is back, Quin is unlocked.....we've got a good series now.

I'm really hoping we get a Paschall game before the series ends. It's clear that we're going to have win 1v1 matchups on offense and make tough shots from floater range. I think this is a great series for Paschall as an offensive weapon and defender against Luka/Brunson bully ball.

He's prime Wade, Harden, and Zion all at the same time against our defense. Luka made some plays tonight....but I actually like our chances against him going against Gobert/Bogey than Brunson against O'Neale. The play that got him benched was disgusting.

When the Jazz first signed Royce he had to prove himself. Ever since he got his contract he has gone downhill. He needs to be gone. He can maybe hit when wide open (if he has the balls to shoot, which he doesn't of late) can't hit off the dribble or defend. At one point this season, I thought he'd be an ok bench player. Now I realize I was wrong, and needs to be gone. I can't emphasize how much better House is on D, and Clarkson even does a better job staying in front of his man (and I would not label Clarkson anything more than an average defender).
