Jazz in a 3 team deal?

It says in the article that additional unnamed pieces would probably be involved.

Please be ****ing Bell.

We'd be awful at the 3 then of course without Howard or Miles but whatever. They're not in our long term plans anyway.

Maybe a Barea for Harris swap?

While I don't hate the trade. It solves none of our problems. We still have Bell. Favors and Kanter still get too little playing time and it does not make the team any better overall. If it gets us a 1st round pick then hell yea.

Not sure this is a money dump, Howard, Miles & Tinsley are all expiring if I'm not mistaken.

Roughy half of $5.9mm prorated to a 66 game season, so not much. But we're a small market so recycling empty aluminum beer bottles left by fans is in play.

Agreed. And I'll take that in a second. Unfortunately, the Wolves 2nd rounder is really the Thunder's so it would be the 59th pick as of now I think. I'd love to somehow get the Spurs late first rounder. Maybe we get their 1st and they get Minny's 2nd.

Can we let them draft it for us too? SAS are the best drafters in the league, IMO.

Addition by subtraction regarding CJ. Tinsley has been an okay 3rd PG and Howard has been alright in spots, but this frees up a lot of time for Burks and Hayward and Danny Green is a nice piece IMO. I mostly want the trade to go down just to be excited for a shake up.

It may not solve but at least addresses some of our problems. Namely 3pt% and PT for Burks. Yes on the Kanter/favors issue and the better overall remains to be seen.

Im sure Sap or Jefferson will be dealt draft day... or leading up to draft. Jazz are gonna target a young PG specifically and (potentially being) without the GS pick we gotta keep our leverage until then.

It slightly mends the shooting problem going forward. The log jam at the 4/5 spots and Bell are problems we unfortunately may have to put up with until next year's deadline, when Al and Raja are expiring.

That deal would make sense for San Antonio. Howard is the type of guy who could come in and make a difference for them in the playoffs. It also makes some sense for Minny given that they're not happy with Martell Webster and Wes Johnson and would view CJ as an upgrade. The Jazz may not want to re-up Miles.

I know jack-diddly-dang-a-lang about the players the Jazz would get.

Let me correct that for you. The Jazz will definitely NOT re-up Miles. Seriously, how can a player supposedly in his prime have FG% and 3PT%'s DECLINE for 5 consecutive years?

Makes sense for Minnesota to get Tinsley. There was also talk of them wanting to swing a Ridnour for Crawford deal, but the Rubio injury put a stop to that. Perhaps if they get Tinsley, they'll go ahead with that trade. SA gets a decent back-up for another run at a title.

And I wouldn't worry about the trade not "working" on the trade checker. There are always throw-ins to make numbers match.

Hopefully picks come our way. I can't imagine the deal just being for those two players mentioned.

This is the type of trade that would explain that DeMarre Carroll signing. Wouldn't surprise me if this is one of the deals on the table.

It's a so-so trade. Shouldn't be a super high priority for any of the teams. It's probably just sitting there in case something better doesn't happen.

Harris - Watson - Dleague
Bell - Burks - Ellington - Green
Hayward - Evans
Millsap - Favors
Jefferson - Kanter

Too many SG's. There has to be another trade in the works if this rumor is true.

I'm holding out hope Raja is part of this trade as well. However, Ellington and Green are combo 2/3 guys I believe. I don't think the Jazz would be giving up CJ AND Howard without expecting the two new guys to play a little 3 from time to time.

Also, you're forgetting Carroll.

So we trade Howard, a SF, and CJ, who plays either SF or SG, for 2 SG's? Don't compute, unless we're gonna run n' gun with 3 G's, and it sure doesn't get Burks more PT at SG...

Can Green play some 3? He's listed as G-F on nba.com. He also has the same standing reach as Hayward but a 2.25 inch better wingspan that Gordon.

Would MUCH rather ship Bell than Howard. However, I feel that we might be able to pry the Spurs' 1st rounder away from them, if we give em Howard. I guess we will find out soon enough what goes on. I will miss Tinsley the most out of the three though; such a kind, encouraging presence on the bench. Kanter said that he was his main tutor. Wish we could hang onto him and ship Bell instead, but life isn't always kind I suppose.

Nothin's real until the great almighty Locke acknowledges a rumor.

The Millers sign his checks. I consider his acknowledgement of the trade to be significant. He's certainly one of the first to issue flat out denials when the press reports someone is being shopped.

I think this is a legit rumor. Who on earth would put in so much time to make up something involving a bunch of second-stringers?

I like it. Or at least, I like it more than doing nothing.

I would really like to see Bell peace the **** out, though.

To make this trade plausible 2 things have to happen.

1st the wolves have to add 1 more player Anthony tolliver fits that bill or Anthony Randolph.

2nd the spurs have to also add a player and James Anderson seems to be the choice according to salaries.

That means the jazz ship out 3 players and take 4 back. All wing players except tolliver. Not a great deal.

Green played sf in collage and I liked him coming out. Ellington has been a huge disappointment. Anderson has been rumored to be traded for a while now.
