Jazz Interested in Dante Cunningham, Ersan Illyasova, Willie Reed

Among the names who hold Jazz interest are Dante Cunningham, who played last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Atlanta Hawks forward Ersan Illyasova and Miami Heat big man Willie Reed are also players the Jazz are looking at.

I like Dante Cunningham. Defender and he had a reliable outside shot last year.

Ily is done. He had what, one good season? He adds nothing outside mediocre stretch shooting. There's a reason he played for three separate teams last season. If the Jazz sign him it's further evidence that they are being cheap and not looking to win a championship.

So then who should they sign?

We still need a backup 5 regardless of whether or not we sign the other two. Our shooting forces us to take Ilyasova.

Reed isn't even a stretch PF. Cunningham or Ersan would be sufficient. Dante can likely be signed for 3.5-4.5 million a season.

Ersan has been a nomad for the past few seasons. Usually good shooters can stick with team, so I wonder what the issue is. If the Pacers are rebuilding, I would see if they would do a deal for Thaddeus Young. Maybe Boris and a second round pick? Young had a down year last year, except for his 3-point shooting, where he shot 38%. That was a career best.

Reed is a very good player. Problem is, I think he wants playing time. He's stuck as Whiteside's backup. Can't see him wanting to sign with Utah to play behind Rudy.

Ersan's real age is 33, not 30.
And he only plays well when his contract is expiring. We gotta stay away from him.
Dante Cunningham seems fine
