According to ESPN's Chad Ford, there are at least nine different NBA teams interested in Nash and willing to make a decent offer for him.

"Lots of teams interested," Ford told fans during a chat. "New York, Dallas, Portland, Orlando, Atlanta, Charlotte, Toronto, Houston, Utah ... there's a pretty big market for him."

Ford went on to say that the Suns can expect to get a young player and a draft pick in return from many of the teams but that not all of them have the assets to make it work.

It's not clear whether Lon Babby and the front office has any intention of actually dealing the two-time MVP but the market for him sounds significant at this point.

While Nash's performance hasn't dropped off much over the last few years, it's only logical that the day is coming soon. Babby admitted the Suns need to get ‘younger and more athletic' and the fastest way to do that is by dealing the one asset they have at their disposal.

Nash's contract is up at the end of the 2011-12 season and if the team doesn't plan on extending that deal they might as well start the rebuilding process and get something in return for him.

That is if they learned anything from the entire Amar'e Stoudemire situation.

Dont want them to give up any assets for Steve Nash. I want them to pull a Thunder and let there young guns play it out, for the next 2 years and develop into a playoff team that way.
 
Devin Harris and CJ, plus this years pick #12 and a future Jazz 1st round pick 2013 . Nash has two good years left and he can be a backup for a year. Get it done KOC!
 
I would include any combination of players except for Hayward, Favors, and Jefferson, and I would throw in our own first round this year. Nash would bring instant leadership that we need and he could groom the next point guard for the next few seasons and make us an instant playoff team again, keep in mind who Nash made better players and how this would effect the development of our young core ie. Hayward and Favors. He could help make Favors the next Stoudamire/DHoward type player.
 
Maybe Nash will want to meet up with his old buddies in NY, D' Antoni and Amare. Although I am not sure what this means for the future CBA and their current cap.
 
Nash will be done in 2 years, and we won't be good enough to contend in that time, so why in the world would anyone want to give any assets at all for him.

To sell some tickets? That's the only reason why a team like the Jazz would get Nash. A team like NY would get him because he thrives in that type of offense. Anyway, please don't put off rebuilding Jazz.
 
Maybe we can get Nash, Marion, Diaw, and Barbosa so we can have the old gang back together?

Where's the rest of the "Rat Pack"?
 
If you bring in a PG with the Nets pick and use the Jazz pick to grab Nash you don't think Nash would be an asset for teaching the young PG some skills?
 
I'd do Harris, Bell, and one of the lottery picks. Best case, he makes us a lot better and actually wants to resign. He could easily have Kidd type longevity. The guy does not miss games. But I see him wanting to take his game to a contender. So the worst case is he gets flipped at the deadline for assets/draft picks better than what we would have gotten out of this year's lottery pick. But I don't think this will happen.

I am guessing you are also thinking Harris would be gone in either the Nash trade or another one. I think that would be interesting. Just not sure what you would actually have to give up to get Nash. My guess is a lot.

I really don't think we should throw in a lottery pick for someone who will be gone soon.
Lottery picks don't come around every year unless you are the Clippers, and I don't think we will be that bad for very long.

The idea is we wouldn't let Nash walk. If he wasn't going to resign, you get a pick coming back in a deal or a solid NBA player. Might even get both. But given the quality of this year's draft, a pick in next year's draft or a player is likely to be much better. The risk is Nash gets injured. But he's been an iron man for more than 10 straight seasons.
 
Give me a break.

First Billups..now Nash.

Why don't we just get it over with and re-sign Stockton.
