What's new

Jazz-Kings Saturday 28th 7:00 MT

What pisses me off is that Corbin should have given our young bigs more time tonight (15 mins. each??). Jefferson looked gassed yesterday and today and Millsap was struggling (besides his rebounding). This is when you take advantage of your depth, right? Just like last night, the starting bigs looked way off. On a positive note, Hayward looked tremendous and is such an awesome player when he is aggressive and hitting a shot or two. In addition, Burks can score the ball!

Watson with 21 minutes and 0 assists.. that cannot happen.

I know he gets a lot of love around here and he's usually a solid back-up. But Earl Watson has absolutely stunk up the floor the last couple of games - especially on defense. Why they put him on Jimmer at the end of the game is beyond me. You know there is no ****ing way Jimmer is going to put the ball on the floor. So why not put someone with length on him? Hayward? Howard?

We got the W despite a weak showing from our front line and that's big news because usually we don't. Big game for Hayward, excited to see if he can build on the momentum.

It's probably already been said (haven't read this entire thread) but it's about damn time that Hayward showed some real aggressiveness with his shot. Let's hope that he's out of whatever passive funk he's been in and this is the start of a new trend.

On another topic, is it bad of me to hope that Bell's injured? Not too seriously, but enough to keep him out of games. Less Bell=More Burks, and that's, in my opinion, a good thing.

Is there such a thing as an immoral victory? Heard of moral victories. so what was this? Difficult to be uplifted by this win.

Dam*, just finished reading that cheering for Jimmer crap thread. Staying the H*** clear of that one. There are proper forums for this type of discussion, but they would not
allow some of those posts. Why are we all so angry? On both sides.

Karl, said it best. He was impressed with Jimmer Fredette, thought he was a great kid etc. but wouldn't cheer for him because he was wearing the wrong D*** uniform (not an exact quote) Pretty simple really.
Jazz fans don't worship/support other teams players. But wanting to argue or tell off an attendee who does is just stupid. For all of you who did cheer him on, it's a basketball game, not a religious contest. Jimmer's abilities
do not make your church any better or any more convincing to anyone but yourself. I am a Ute fan, a Cougar fan, an Aggie fan and.....well, you get the picture. When i'm told i can't do that, my reply is this. They are playing football/basketball they are not out there debating religion.

Okay. So i didn't stay out of it.

Story of the night is Hayward. He finally played pissed off like he was going to score. He still needs to go up more on drives, but I'm very pleased with the game he played tonight. Best game of the year for him.

Jimmer went to BYU, so of course he is gonna get cheers. Nothing to do with religion. we don't need a basketball player to afirm our faith.
It's no different than fans who cheered Keith Van Horn. It happened. A great player plays at your favorite school, you like to see him do well in the pros.

2nd story of the night is how we looked with a Hayward/CJ lineup. (And honestly, it could have been a Hayward/Howard lineup) The lesson that will go unlearned is we are a much more dangerous lineup with two wings that can create offense. And with both Al and Sap struggling tonight, it helped us a lot.

Kanter is my 3rd story. I saw the first glimpses of what his actual offensive game might look like. A couple of nice post moves, a lane jumper off a cut. He got worked over by Hayes a few times, too, but he was actually scoring points off drops to the post tonight which was nice to see.

Favors continues to be insane to watch. He actually had a few decent takes to the bucket from the low block tonight, but he has zero ability to pass once he makes his move. He's so much better when he just fishes the glass for points. He also has no sense about when to shoot. I actually like that to a point, just because I like his aggression, but he takes some terrible, terrible shots.

My favorite dumb Harp comment of the night was in the 3rd when we ran it up to 10 after 3 breaks. He said, "The energy level's picked up." The reality is we just had more guys on the floor who could actually score and make plays. But having said that, I have to admit Harp is growing on me a little.

I honestly think Evans might be the best driver in the NBA. Incredible first step and such a creative finisher. Howard played him best, but there's not much you can do against him. I don't know how much you can corral him, but I'd love to see him play on a team like we have where he could be part of a team offense. So much talent.

I honestly didn't watch Jimmer that close. But based on what I saw I'll be shocked if he's ever a starter. His whole college game of dribbling forever to make something happen is painful to watch in the pros. He'll never be a good point. But I wouldn't rule him out as a solid bench player.
