What's new

Jazz @ Lakers - Sunday, March 18, 7:30pm

Enes Kanter plays with a real edge but under control, and then off the court he's just a sweet kid. And I BELIEVE it so far.

Just got done watching the game. Kanter just made the whole city of LA blank his blank and at the end tear off kobes mask and blow it on his face!

Kanter. This guy is going to be really good. He has that warrior's mentality and Jefferson clearly is having an effect on his post game. Kanter with multiple nice moves in the last couple games from the left low block, Jefferson country. Kanter doing that against one of the best in Bynum. Sweet. I almost wish Jefferson was 10 years older so the mentoring/transitioning would be so much more easy and obvious.

Millsap is simply the heart of the Utah Jazz. If KOC ever gets rid of this guy I might turn in my card. When we are a playoff team watch the f out for Sap.

I hate to say this but the Lakers have just not shown up besides Bynum and Gasol. We beat a team that did not want to win very bad.

Millsap has been terrific of late, even when his shot isn't falling. He's forcing stuff a little much still, but he seems to have a lot of confidence in the young guys and is doing a good job of complementing them. Great game tonight.

Agreed. Millsap is the MVP of Utah this year. He is so, so good.

What is really special IMO has been the team defense. We have been seeing it from multiple sets and IMO this is what drives Corbin's sets. I think he has been stressing D and leaning on Al to provide points. We all know Utah doesn't play perfect offense like before.

just watched the replay.

Great game. Always great to beat LA. Lots of contributions from everyone.
CJ deserves some major props for the way he guarded Kobe.
Kanter showing some great moves inside.
Millsap just a beast. Really took it to Gasol.
Burkes. Damm. This kid is good. Maybe the steal of the draft? He looks better and better, and is playing under control. Athleticism. Quite a few "DANG!" moments.
Nice games from Howard and Harris.
Favors with a 12-10 game. not bad considering he was going against Bynum.

Underrated in this game is the play of Milsap and Harris. Harris is starting to look very comfortable running an offense.

definitely! and his driving layup at the end was fantastic.

The reffing sucked in this game. That flagrant on Tinsley was so bogus. Tinsley was just standing there. Sessions was going full blast and jumped into him. How is that a flagrant?
CJ totally fouled by Kobe late in the game, and they don't call. A lot of travels that the lakers got away with.
40-22 on ft's. it was 40-20 before they fouled Millsap on purpose.
ANd then at the end, Millsap was totally fouled but NOOOOOOOOO, we needed to give Kobe one more chance.

and after all that, the lakers were still bitching the whole game.

Seriously, is this just a matter of acclimation? It seems like this Harris just killed the guy that wore his Jazz jersey until a few weeks ago.

The best part of these recent wins is the fight the team is showing. There's still loads of room for improvement in execution, but the Jazz players, especially the young guys, are playing through the mistakes and putting a lot of pressure on opposing teams from the tip to the final buzzer. Win or lose, it's pretty entertaining.

That sounds dangerously close to an endorsement of our coach.

I've seen quite a few mention they hope this game sparks the confidence of our youth. I hope the youth have sparked the confidence of the management and they feel at ease to make roster adjustments ... hopefully associated with draft picks as we go to the playoffs.

If Burks gets a single more DNP-CD this season, I'll be right on the Fire Ty bandwagon.

What a great game by the Jazz. I usually don't complain about reffing but they won the game despite getting totally jobbed by the worthless officiating crew that was out there.

Jazz players definitely showed up with their **** you attitude tonight. Favors and Kanter are even showing some swagger (Favors getting excited, Kanter throwing a bow).

We all know also that leaning on Boozer to provide points (at the price of his pathetic defense) was often a counterproductive strategy, as has been leaning on Al for scoring if his defense is subpar.

If Corbin had been stressing D, he'd have been insisting more D out of Big A--and playing the young bigs more if Big A wasn't giving it. Can't just play on one side of the court.

This recent success is a big credit to the players' willful and natural development -- and a partial serendipity on the part of Corbin who, like Sloan, has accidentally fallen into this success when he was forced to through injuries and absences, even though he's had plenty of opporunity to see to this point that a higher mix of the young bigs and Burks was better.
