Jazz - Lakers trade, Millsap?

Well not if they got Sap. But they are not the same team that was rolling all over the league 2 years ago. McBob for Odom, Kobe breaking down, bad chemistry, an unreliable center with bad knees, an old crappy PG, no depth, and no Zen master to squeeze 10 more wins.

They could very easily collapse, especially if/when Bynum is lost for 20 games.

Will go down in history as 'The Chris Paul Curse.' The Lakers never rebound from the that day.

Yeah, the Jazz - who are well under the tax, have their amnesty clause, and enough over the cap that it wouldn't matter - are willing to trade their best player TO THE LAKERS FOR POINTLESS CAP ROOM.

Not. Happening.

Can't say it hasn't happened before.

Just having Pau and Kobe playing will be enough to get them in the playoffs.

Trade Paul for Bynum and kobe. I'm pretty sure they would do it.

Even if that was in the realm of possibility I would not want Kobe or Bynum on the Jazz. Kobe because he is Kobe and Bynum because of his hit on Barrea. It really soured me on him.

You really believe anything Eric P. days. He's the damn originator of the Best Buy b.s..... And you believe him?!

I'm going on the record that half of you don't even know Eric Pincus or the whole theory of the Best Buy thing. I should flag this thread... What's next, rumors from Elie Seckbach around here that Devin Harris and Derrick Favors get traded for D Fish and Devin Ebanks?

Lakers got Troy Murphy as their stretch big. Anyway, they solely needed a big, Troy is nowhere close to Lamar talent wise, but, at least he is a very dangerous offensive threat. I dunno Lakers will go after Paul, especially after this acquisition.

Also a correction; The Jazz are sitting at about the cap right now.

The cap is 58 million. With Howard and Watson, Utah is at about 67-68 million I believe. LT will kick in around 70.

teams now have to have their payroll at 90% of the cap MIMIMUM

Actually, I think it's still 75% for this year. It says 85% in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. It won't kick up to 90% for two more years.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about that second part (I know the cap and LT are frozen from moving back for two year, I don't think the minimum is affected or I don't think that amnesties would count against the minimum cap number, but I don't know either. Either way,). So the Jazz still have no reason to dump Millsap (or anyone) for nothing.

On our local sports radio show here in Hawaii, Eric Pincus ...
Ah, that name again. Whenever you hear "Pincus" you can just stop reading. That guy is an absolute hack with no inside knowledge whatsoever. But he did provide some pretty good times on Jazzfanz "Classic" back in the days with his report of hearing rumors about a certain player and trade. Ah, the good old days!

It was just a rumor made up by a local radio host and he started it by saying "Millsap would be perfect for the Lakers to use the trade exception on and the Jazz might not really need him". No legs at all.
