Jazz Likely Standing Pat

2nd round picks have added value imo with the increase to 17 roster spots, I believe starting next year.

Is this seriously a thing? I had no idea. That is exactly what I was hoping the NBA would do. Turn the D-League into an actual farm system. And you're completely right they do hold much more value if you can lock in those players to your roster for a relatively low cost.

The profits...after the board has been paid, right?

You people are ridiculous.

Gail has said that the profits will be reinvested in the Jazz. She has gone so far as to say that the team itself will provide no material benefit to her family. There's good reason to think that the league having a profit sharing system would demand the investment into the team in order to put it into a trust. The Lakers don't want to help finance a slumlord.

I haven't seen the document but based on what's been said and what seems reasonable from the perspective of the other owners I would guess that all of the Jazz profits will be reinvested in the team and that the board will be paid out of the profits of other non basketball related income at the arena. Disney on Ice,circus, concerts, etc.

The simple truth is that if the Miller's didn't do this the Jazz become the Sonics and the Millers pocket 100's of millions of dollars with the PR cover that they didn't want to sell but were forced to.
