So what's the story with this guy? He shoots 35% now, and 60% in college? Too much of tweener? Once the size and athleticism level evened out a bit he didn't have the skill level to get some bunnies?
I wouldn't mind him on the cheap as I saw play a few times in college and he was interesting. That's partly what this season should be about now really. Just bringing guys that you might find interesting that are scrubbing away elsewhere on the cheap and giving them an audition. Him and that white guy on the Kings seem like two prime candidates.
Burks and Marvin for Williams and '14 pick would be better.
Id love Burks and Marvin for Williams and Shved.
Throw in Love too.

What's the point of Williams and Shved? They don't make the Jazz worse now and don't make the Jazz better long term. No reason to make that trade. Marvin for Derrick straight up isn't much different. Instead of finding a FA next year to replace Marvin, you just get him now. Marvin at least helps Minny in the present, so there's some incentive for Minnesota to do it. Derrick does nothing for the Jazz and his body of work doesn't suggest there's long term impact, which is disappointing for me since I was really high on Derrick when he was drafted.
The same could be said for the Jazz...Corbin hasn't developed any of the young players into anything remotely valuable on the trade market.David Kahn teams haven't exactly been incredible at developing talent... might not be DWills fault... its not a bad trade if its Marvin Williams for Derrick Williams straight up, maybe Brandon Rush for more filler. Doesnt hurt the tank, and might work out down the line for building a stacked team.
+1 its likely the only reason why we're on list of possible destinations is we have cap space or will have (upcoming), even though it should be set in stone for now.Jazz have their roster and long term payroll just where they want it.
Be surprised if they make any deal right now.
Id take thatId love Burks and Marvin for Williams and Shved.
Excuse me but why do we want to trade Marvelous Marv? Isn't he the only guy who comes to work with his hardhat, and expires next year?

Huh. Probably doesn't have any legs to it, but interesting to see the Jazz pop up in some trade talks nonetheless. If there is any truth to it, I wonder what Jazz asset is being discussed.
