Jazz looking to pick up Gustavo Ayon off waiver

Do we even need a another big(Yes I know he signed with the Hawks)?

I think Kanter, Favors, Gobert, Evans & Bedrins is enough...... Seems like if we find a talented player it will take away minutes from Gobert or Evans. Which I think both need minutes to develop more.

Just as well. He may be gritty and tough, but those guys are better for championship contenders with a set roster, not young teams that need to have growing pains in my opinion.

Evans is going to be 26 by the time the season starts - how much more do you think he is going to develop?

If Kanter or Favors go down, Jazz are in big trouble. Evans is not even an every day back-up PF let a lone a starter. Gobert is an unknown and on a good team would probably head straight to the D-League and Biedrens is one of the worst players in the league.

I just can't see Evans being able to stick in the NBA. With no offensive game outside of dunks and not having a label of a defensive stopper, Utah may likely be his last destination.

At 26, this is his peak. His explosion isn't going to get better than what it already is.

Are minutes for Evans a priority?

No.

Evans has already exceeded expectations by just making the team and then getting an extension. By all accounts, he's a great guy, but he's not an integral part of the team going forward. He'll always be in that 9-11 player range: good for spot or garbage minutes, but never able to be a part of the core rotation on a good team.

Evans actually has a pretty good jumpshot.

Evans has shown he can hit the midrange jumper.
