I'd argue that H. W. was just as big a scapegoat if not greater. Nothing new here.
 
Not advocating bell or anything but maybe he will be better this year after all it does take older players longer to recover from injury, but I would feel better if we get someone anyone to take his minutes. Hopefully Burks can prove to be that guy

i kind of like the guy but what scares me is his injuries and the effect this condensed schedule will have on his body.
 
The more I hear about Josh Howard, the more I don't want him on the team. He has tons of character issues, he's a bit of a nutcase. Besides, what's the point of brining in Paul Carter if they bring in Josh Howard to keep him off the floor.

But America has treated him very badly. I think he needs 10 mil a year so he can feed his family.

Is Paul Carter even any good? If he is better than Josh Howard then I'm all for it. But if Josh Howard is even remotely close to his old form, then I don't think his character issues are all that bad. So he smokes weed and doesn't like the government. Big deal. Oh yeah, and he likes to race cars, another big deal.
 
It sounds like I am in the minority around here, but I am hoping very much that Josh Howard joins the Jazz. I see it as a small risk that has a potential to be very good. I like the youth movement, but would love to see Josh start and Miles back him up at the 3 spot, leaving Hayward at the 2 backed up by Bell and Burks (hopefully in a couple months more Burks than Bell). Hayward should prosper more at the 2 than 3 due to size advantages and he still is a good outside shooter and passer. I love Millsap at the 4, but not at the 3. Josh would provide a relatively young, but experienced, player with a lot of talent who's natural position is the 3. He has some character issues, but in all honesty so do many of the players in Jazz history and we were fine. As long as they keep the deal in the 2-3 years for about 3-5 million per year range than this is a great thing for the Jazz. Look what we offered Bell and Josh is certainly worth more to this team than Bell was.
 
Fox13 gave us just a 25% chance of landing howard. But they also referred to Ronnie Price as a star player so I don't know how credible they are.
 
I heard the Spurs are very interested.... which gives this potential acquisition tons more cred. If we had an established locker-room culture, then I would have liked this pursuit from the beginning. Lack that, I've been worried. But, hey, the Spurs have a good track record, so, yeah.

Pretty sure you just can't pay off a group of people that were slaves in a country where our own declaration of independence talked about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is kind of hard for anyone to take advantage of those unalienable rights as a slave. Was Josh himself a slave?? No, but he can chose how he personally feels about this country. SAme as you can as you attend your teaparty rallies with a American flag pin on your lapel.

I remember the day AK was balling to the reporters in Houston. That night on the Fox 13 news they had Rick Aaron (their main sports guy) in Houston. He spent the whole segment outside the Rockets arena with a couple of the Rockets dancers. Didn't say one word about AK or his outburst. He just flirted with Rockets dancers and talked about dumb stuff that nobody cared about. Meanwhile AK crying was the biggest story in Utah sports that day (possibly national sports), and pretty much all they talked about in every other local news sports segment.

I never took Fox 13's sports serious after that.
