Jazz Offseason Plan

I don't think Favs wants to go back there... can likely entice OKC to enter the deal as I think Houston should get less and NOLA should give a little more.
Possibly, but we could put it on David Griffen to find a team to take Favors' contract. For crying out loud, they could give us two 2nd rounders this year and then give up two future 2nd rounders to dump Favors. They have something like 8 extra 2nd rounders the next 5 drafts.

There's a difference between trading those levels of assets vs trading the #10 pick.
JC's value now vs. Exum's value (or lack thereof) is also different. It probably is overly optimistic and we likely couldn't get that much... spitballing a bit here.

I wonder if the Brooklyn Nets would trade Joe Harris for Bledsoe considering contracts and that he's a pass first defender who can be there when Kyrie gets hurt. If he doesn't work out, they could trade his attractive contract at the deadline.

JC's value will likely never be as high as it is right now as the reigning 6th man of the year and top bench scorer in the league. I think the hot shooting, efficient JC we got the first part of last season was a fluke and the inefficient chucker we got the second half of the season is the real JC. Still a useful player but not nearly as valuable as he appeared to be early last season. I would sell high on him this offseason before I would trade Bogey or Joe.

This. All the way.

If we could flip JC in a deal for Marcus Smart, I’d be over-the-moon.

Listened to Andy Larsen on Spence Checketts show. He said him and Tony Jones were on the phone for an hour and a half last night trying to come up with players the Jazz could acquire through trade that would fit their needs of perimeter defense, athleticism, rebounding, etc. The 3 names they came up with are Larry Nance Jr., Covington, and Marcus Smart. Mentioned Ingles, Clarkson, Favors and Bogey as guys they could possibly trade.

Someone orchestrate a 10 team trade where we send out Favors, Niang and Oni and take back Covington, Nance, and Smart. Include any second rounders necessary, or the draft rights to Shan Foster.

We get Smart and Roco

Clarkson for Smart
Bogey for Roco

Conley-#30
Mitchell-O’Neale
Smart-Ingles
Roco-Batum
Gobert-Udoka

Jordan Clarkson and #30 for Smart and #45 is about the best I can do. I would suspect that Nance may be had if the Cavs get Mobley. Not sure Bojan is what they'd be looking for... not sure I'm willing to pay a steep price for Nance.

It should be. The Cavs were dead last in 3’s last year.

If you can do the Bojan & 30 for Lamb, Holiday, 13 deal... you can then follow up with a deal where you get 19/21 for 13 from NY or worst case 23/24 from Houston for 13... you can then follow up by sending the extra first plus Favs to Cleveland for Nance (it might have to be Lamb instead of Favs... but I like Lamb).

So you nab Nance, Holiday and get a better first to hopefully get my guy Butler. Keep JC... and keep either Favs or Lamb. Use MLE on Batum... IDK... I don't hate it.

We just fired the guy who had an in with the Cleveland FO.

When was JZ hired… maybe he has the in… Ainge has had dealing their too. We probably hired 6-7 GMs since DL left so we are covered.

Does Favors have any value at all if we packaged him with our 30th pick? Like is Favors and 30 for Nance Jr. completely crazy?

If Cleveland is getting jumpy on becoming good, then yes. If they can accept that they need to be patient and keep building, then no.

Pretty sure this is the other way around. Cleveland, New York and Detroit had the in's with our FO till we fired DL's ***. No more trick or treat for 2nd round picks sadly.

I think that's possible. Nance would be nice and a guy who I think could actually play small ball 5 situationally.

If we were able to land Nance for Favors, I'd use him as a Royce upgrade, otherwise keep the starting unit in tact, and bring Royce off the bench.
