You’re kinda confusing in some of the things you’re suggesting. In what world is Clarkson for Smart salary relief?

Smart is like top 3 of who I would want to pair with Mitchell in the backcourt, but I would be loathe to give up JC for him. Maybe I stan him too hard, but I think he's probably the third most important guy under contract right now. Bogie, I would do without hesitation.U crazy if you wouldn’t trade JC for Marcus Smart
I wouldn’t rank JC that high, for sure. But I definitely appreciate his importance. In the end, gotta give to receive... and Smart gives us something we need worse that what JC provides.Smart is like top 3 of who I would want to pair with Mitchell in the backcourt, but I would be loathe to give up JC for him. One thing is for absolute certain no doubt at all about it:
There is no reason to go into next season with Rudy, Favors AND Doke. What is the need of spending close to $50 million on bigs who can't play small ball or stretch the floor?
More Donovan offseason stuff, no need for a thread on it, I’m not sure if Monson is just going off the Windhorst report or if he’s also heard similar things, but here’s the article he wrote today.

Gordon Monson: Don’t go, Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz can win. Utah is not a state of hate.
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell continues to face vitriol from the far-right as he speaks out in favor of social justice and critical race theory in schools.www.sltrib.com
Monson wrote another beauty of a column in the Trib today. I guess the gist of it is Quin is God, don't you dare criticize him, DL is scum. the end of the bench is garbage and Quin needs more talent at the end of the bench. If I were guys sitting on the bench other than JC, I would be really angry at the column. Monson did an excellent job of character assissinating DL and everyone on the Jazz except the first six players. Why not ask Quin if he made any effort to improve the roster like sign Korver, or RHJ when he had the chance and if things were so bad why didn't he play the end of the bench guys so he could offer proof as to why they were bad instead of just trust me.Monson writing this is dumb IMO. It’s not the time and only helps the seed in Don’s mind grow more IMO.
My dad always blamed Monson for us losing one of the finals series. He wrote a piece saying it was over (that we’d win), which pissed off Jordan.Monson writing this is dumb IMO. It’s not the time and only helps the seed in Don’s mind grow more IMO.
To me it goes Don-Rudy-JC-Bogie-Royce or Joe. Again, just who is under contract.I wouldn’t rank JC that high, for sure. But I definitely appreciate his importance. In the end, gotta give to receive... and Smart gives us something we need worse that what JC provides.
In the JC-for-Smart scenario, I shift the majority of Bogie’s minutes to be against opposing benches. He’d be the new “microwave.”
I thought the article was a bit much, I’m just not so sure the seed isn’t already growing. It’s hard to ignore the fact several people have kind of mentioned Donovan’s want to be here isn’t really there anymore. I’m not saying that’s 100% true, but it’s been said by a few people and you gotta pay a little attention to smoke.Monson writing this is dumb IMO. It’s not the time and only helps the seed in Don’s mind grow more IMO.
S&T Conley to Celtics for SmartSmart is like top 3 of who I would want to pair with Mitchell in the backcourt, but I would be loathe to give up JC for him. This. Terrible hatchet job by monson. Normally he's better than that.Monson writing this is dumb IMO. It’s not the time and only helps the seed in Don’s mind grow more IMO.
There are whispers that Donovan Mitchell doesn’t want to play for the Jazz in Utah anymore. He wants to go somewhere else.

he's been retirement age for twenty years, regardless of how old he isMonson is still around? He has to be near retirement age.
This is one of the biggest things I was shouting last off season. Whether he would come or not, hard to say, but just as an example of quality of player at the position.DL picking Favors on a 3 yr/$27M deal over Bobby Portis on 2 yr/$7M deal was another terrible decision.
