Jazz Offseason Plan

Thanks for sharing.

If the Lakers "offered" Kuzma to Utah like they offered him to Indiana (KK & #22 for TJW & #13), then I know why we said no.

They probably said Kuzma and Gasol for Bojan and #30

I actually think they probably went after Ingles. All their fans think that anyways. I don't actually believe that the Jazz are shopping Ingles, but it would make sense that he's the one teams want the most.

Not sure if posted already, but here's a report that Kuz was offered to UTA.

The report that every team has been offered Kuzma the other day made me laugh… almost like a desperate fantasy owner throwing out trade requests.

If we can turn Bogey into Nance that’s good for us as well. We have to cut costs somehow. I want to it by keeping Niang and getting a cheaper player than Bogey. He’s a luxury we can’t afford.
Nance would fit very well here, I think. Plays defense, can hit the 3 at a decent clip, could probably fill in as small ball center and is on a reasonable salary. We’d lose some offense, but gain defense and positional versatility, which is exactly the trade off that needs to be made.

Probably a center? You don’t pull the trigger unless that’s exactly how you plan to use him, imo.

I know the Cavs are getting Mobley and about to pay Jarrett Allen, but I still find it a little hard to believe that they want to get off of Nance's salary. Weird things going on with that FO.

They don't want to pay Sexton either... its called "We Paid The **** Out of Kevin Love" Syndrome.

Honestly though... they are a team I would keep calling over and over again. Wouldn't be the first time we got 150% out of a trade with them.

I totally forgot that they have Kevin Love too lol. Mobley better be good or else that franchise is doomed.

I think he can toggle between 4 and 5 fairly reliably... if Quin adjusts some schemes/principles. At very least he can get some steals while playing drop coverage and we will kill it on offense while maybe surviving on defense. He would help us size up when we need to.

Injuries are an issue... he's also never really been on a winning team for a long period of time... he had the finals run with Lebron. He's a guy I could see being awesome or just being a slight disappointment. I think he's a good guy to bet on.

As long as he can toggle to C. I don’t want to pay the fee if he can’t.

Look it probably takes a year and a disappointing playoff series... but then the reports of "they think Nance can play some center next year" will come out.

On Chad Ford's podcast today he and Tony Jones discussed a couple of possible deals the Jazz could make with Ingles. Tony brought up Ingles and 30 for Marcus Smart, Ford doesn't think Boston would do it. They also discussed Ingles and 30 for Kuzma and 22, Tony said he wouldn't make that deal unless Chris Duarte or Trey Murphy were still on the board at 22. I didn't get the impression that they were necessarily reporting that these deals are really on the table and might happen but more just speculating what kind of a deal they could get for Ingles should they decide to trade him.
