And as for the rest of your argument, his FG% has gone down every year as he's increased his rate of shooting. There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest CJ will start playing actual good basketball anytime soon.

This. CJ has done one thing, prove the nay-sayers right. He has grown worse each year. He got what all the proponents said he needed, more playing time, and got worse. He started, and got worse. I would far and away have rather seen Hayward getting the minutes than CJ last year. This year is no different. If Corbin is smart he will give Hayward 20-30 per night and use CJ as filler. If they are even smarter, they will use him in a trade of some kind. I think this was an easy, safe move to make, which for me does not bode well, since making the easy safe moves without something following it up is a good way to stay mediocre.
