Jazz players at the World Cup

Started out slow, but in the 2nd quarter Exum is starting to warm up with some bullet like precision passing leading to a couple of nice buckets.

Always looking to set up his teammates, hasn't shot the ball yet.

Aus down 10+ points early in this game.

x2 consecutive nice plays by Exum. The first one he ran with the ball on a fast break, nice bounce pass to a big who lays it up. The very next play Finland had a turnover, Exum sprinted ahead, received the ball and dunked it. Finland called time out.

Aus now within 9 points.

Nice change of speed by Exum when he needed it, but overall he looked gassed yet again with hands on hips... not moving freely, not yet as active as could be.

Half time.

Australia back within 1pt, 44-45. Exum certainly had a hand in bringing the scores closer with several nice plays. Again showing that he can make things happen when allowed to handle the ball.

Watch a little of the Australia game. Our summer league team was much better organized.

This is slop game. Exum might be regressing.

By my calculations(the stats site is stuck at 27:20 for me) he has 5 assists, 1/3(one was buzzer 3pt) FG for 2 pts, 2 steals and 2 rebounds in about 12 minutes of play in the first half.

Started off as a SG and was pretty much invisible until he got the ball in his hands in the PG role later. I really love his passing and unselfish play. But sometimes I wish he'd be more aggressive. In D - he definitely needs to improve his strength - people bully him around the court, he struggles to go past screens and crashes into them... looks like a kid against men trying to fight them.

This is the Boomers' first game - they are a bit rusty and you can tell. Andrej Lemanis is a good coach, he led the NZ Breakers to win 3 consecutive Australian NBL Championships 2 years ago before becoming the Bommers' coach.

So I would say a combination of new coach, rusty first game jitters, etc, etc, etc are to blame. This is certainly good for Exum though, he need some game time as he hasn't played organised basketball for nearly a year.

He definitely plays better with the ball in his hand because he has tremendous vision and he isn't a good shooter or an aggressive attacker off the dribble. He needs that ball in his hand as much as possible so that he can create for others.

That fatigue factor is a bit worrying though... he doesn't look very fit to me, similar to the SL games. A lot of hands on hips type stuff.

LOL .. poor Exum... if there is a shorter PG on the team, he's automatically slotted in at the SG position by default.

There was a really nice precision bullet pass that Exum made from near the perimeter to the Center in the paint in the 2nd quarter. Unfortunately the Center blew the layup, but it was a pretty pass for sure.

Start of 3rd quarter..

Exum lost a player and gave up a 3pter, but made an assist to make up for it at the other end.
