I don't believe it was all rosy in the locker room before Kanter trade. We saw Hayward and Burke (oh irony) barking on Kanter every so often on the court bringing Kanter's mood down. Then that Hayward's blog post with a disguised shot at Kanter right after the trade when everyone was still happy with each other on public. Unlikely, he was locker room cancer but "it was all great" is unlikely given how Enes took a swing at some teammates.
Insulted city and fans as in not missing them?

It pains me that there is anyone who cannot see the difference between somebody trying to tarnish a team, his old teammates, the fans that cheered for him, and even the city he played for and the dudes who are sticking up for all four. Understand SF that Kanter didn't just break bad on his old teammates, he broke bad on YOU. He disrespected YOU as a fan of the franchise because you don't have the good sense to be an Oklahoma City fan. The Jazz as a team probably could have let the thing go, but when Kanter started badmouthing EVERYONE, they served him up like he deserved. Even former players like Demarre stood up and defended you as a fan of the franchise. Those are the dudes that I want wearing my team's name on their chest. Those guys have my back and their teammates back, so I'll be damned if I don't have their back as well. I guess you can make a different choice if you want. . .
Kids these days so easily get offended..

I don't get the point of defending a player who openly admitted not liking you, but whatever floats your boat.

Now on side note here is what media member Andy Larsen said on Kanter right before the trade and after rumor got around that he wanted out.
"It's funny, Kanter was an incredibly happy-go-lucky guy. He was easily the nicest player to me, even when I was ripping him: he's just a fun guy! But then, after games, especially losses, you could just see that it was eating him up that he wasn't getting more of a chance to contribute. He was making very thinly veiled comments about Ty's coaching and rotations. He clearly thought that this year would be a new beginning, but when a second coach limited him too (due to his defense), he wanted out. But yeah, he was unhappy about his situation at least going back to year 2."
So being happy go lucky while playing no defense and being pissed that you are actually held accountable for it is supposed to make us feel like he's not a moron? I don't get it.
This thread is yet more evidence that our current players can defend, and Kanter cannot.

I guess what I'm saying is that being happy go lucky and a cancer aren't mutually exclusive.
The problem you are describing isn't locker-room, that is on the court problems.
I don't think Kanter was a locker-room cancer. The dude seemed awkward and distant with his teammates outside of his sometimes goofy demeanor. From what I read, Kanter never developed any personal relationships with anyone on the team so he was just kind of outside on his own all the time (through his choice,, remember all the reports that he was constantly on his cellphone his rookie year and didn't really talk to anyone). That probably created a slightly weird atmosphere in the locker-room. Now that he is gone, everyone is pretty much cool and seems to be friendly on a level outside of just playing basketball.

As far as on the court if someone's game is bad and makes others around him seem less good he is just a bad player, not a cancer imo. If any of us on these forums dressed up and went on the court for the Jazz would we be cancers or just really bad players? I guess if you define bad players as cancers Kanter was a cancer.

I can't recall Locke calling Kanter a cancer once, let alone 15 times. I don't discount the possibility that my recollection is inaccurate, but given that I listen to Locke most every day, if he has called Kanter a cancer so persistently as you've claimed, I think I would have noted.
Unless given evidence to the contrary, I conclude that you're either wrong or grossly exaggerating.
