Last week we saw the rumour that the Jazz and a few other teams were going to have several players in for workouts ahead of the draft combine.

Today we finally see news about one of those workouts.

Michael Scotto: Sources: Utah Jazz will hold a group workout on Wednesday, which will include Russell Byrd among several other draft candidates. #NBADraft Twitter @MikeAScotto

Russell Byrd is 6'7" 190 lbs, from Michagan State. He shot 28% from three last year.

And now more....

The Utah Jazz will hold their first batch of pre-draft workouts tomorrow morning. I'm told former Penn State star DJ Newbill will be there

It's Jazz pre-draft workout time! Russell Byrd, Denzel Livingston, Maurice Ndour, D.J. Newbill, Rayvonte Rice and Trey Zeigler tomorrow.

DJ Newbill and Denzel Livingston are teh only people that don't seem like complete and total scrubs.

So Dennis Lindsey really does work 365 days of the year.. the job never stops, LOL ...

Are you Maori? I saw you say you are from New Zealand and I saw Bob in your avatar which made me want to ask you are a fan of Reggae? Do you like Sons of Zion? They are the best Maori reggae!

Haha nah bro, not a Maori, wished I was though Maori's are cool.

If you like raggae Katchafire and Fat Freddy's drop are right up there in NZ music scene :)

The only reason these guys are coming in is that the Jazz own their own d-league team now.

Or practice evaluating players.

Or practice hosting players.

Or practice working with agents.

Or building relationships with Aau coaches, and college coaches.

Or providing scouting reports to euro teams.

Rayvonte Rice seems like he could be worth a look at the end of the 2nd, or in free agency, I think he'd be getting drafted for sure if not for breaking his hand. Mostly just not sure about his fit with us.

Rice's idols growing up were DWill and Dee Brown.

I can support that, I might admit to rocking a headband just like Dee's once or twice, loved that Illini team. All things considered he doesn't really play like either one of them, seems like a solid scorer, but shooting only really picked up in his senior season.

SALT LAKE CITY — And so the parade of potential draft picks begins.

The Utah Jazz will host six players on Wednesday for their first pre-draft workout, leading up to the June 27 NBA draft.

The first group includes all college seniors. Underclassmen who declared for the draft are unable to work out for teams until after next week's draft lottery concludes.

Wednesday's bunch includes five guards and one forward: 6-foot-8, 215-pound G Russell Byrd, Master's College; 6-foot-4, 178-pound guard Denzel Livingston, Incarnate Word; 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward Maurice Ndour, Ohio; 6-foot-4, 210-pound guard D.J. Newbill, Penn State; 6-foot-4, 230-pound guard Rayvonte Rice, Illinois; and 6-foot-5, 203-pound guard Trey Zeigler, TCU.

This group will hope to replicate what Bryce Cotton did. The point guard worked out for the Jazz in their first pre-draft group last year and was later signed to a contract by Utah, even ending the season with a string of solid performances.

Some of these guys have some gaudy college stats. Doesn't mean they can guard anything or play team ball.

My stats in rec ball this year were pretty impressive as well. 7 Pts, 1 rbd, 0 assts, 7 to's. Sign me up!

One game bro or over a season? Can I get the per 40 adjusted numbers? How many threes you make?
