Jazz Pre-Draft Workouts

I wasn't happy about Hayward and I was wrong. I absolutely wanted nothing to do with Ostertag Jr.(Cole Aldrich).

I wasn't as much an Aldrich guy as much as an "anyone but Hayward" guy, but yeah. The adage used for Hayward applies to any young player though (wait 2-3 years and see what you have then). Though I'm honestly not sure how he gets off the bench on that team, or rather, how much he can (being behind Ibaka, Collison, and Perkins).

Kall 700 reporting that June 15th Jazz will have Kemba Walker and Jimmer Freddett and working to get Brandon Knight there too.

That mirrors my thoughts, although Aldrich was even lower on my list. He has such an ugly shot. Unless he completely changes his release, he'll never be more than a garbage man. And we needed more than that at #9.

I didn''t really have a guy last year. I liked Ed Davis, Paul George but I really wanted to move up and get Favors or Cousins. Hayward wasn't on my radar but I liked him in college and wasn't a hater. I was a little surprised they took him because the gossip was more about the Jazz selecting a big man. I think that is why people booed him so loudly because they were expecting the Jazz to get one of the many big men that were available. I am glad KOC picked him. I really don't think I would trade him for anyone else in the draft now that I know how good he can be.

I will man up and admit I supported Aldrich and hated the Hayward pick. Certainly looks like they made the better pick, still think Aldrich will be a solid player in the NBA though.

I was an Ed Davis fan. I didn't hate Hayward. But I was sure he wasn't athletic enough to be a two.

I have never run away from my hatred of the Hayward pick and took more than just a little grief. I made no bones about wanting everyone picked behind Hayward all the way to number 15. That included Larry Sanders. It also included Paul George who I thought was a much better pick. I still do. That being said even a hater like me has to admit that toward the end of the season Hayward played great. He was a much better option than bell or Miles and I found myself wanting Hayward to play extended minutes. The really surprising thing to me was he played better defense than I thought.

I still don't believe he is the second coming of Horny and people need to stop with the Jesus references. But, hey I've been wrong before maybe Hayward will actually walk on water this year.

I used to wish Hayward would die a gruesome and painful death.
Now I wish him to live a blissful life and have as much happiness as is possible.

Oh, and I think this says more about me than about Hayward.

The problem for Aldrich is that OKC is loaded with defense first big guys. I believe Mohammed is a free agent so perhaps Cole can get some PT next year. OKC in my opinion needs a big man who can space the floor.
