What's new

Jazz @ Raptors - Tipoff at 5:30 PM MST - 3/2/2016

What is the record when the Jazz give up more than 100? Don't think it's very good. The interesting thing is that they play really well in the 1st quarter, awful in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, then come roaring back in the 4th quarter. Minus Burks and Exum. It really feels like a very subtle tank job by the front office and Quin Snyder. All the damage is done early in the game and not necessarily with the core starters all playing together.

tank job to no purpose Is there a decent wing shooter available 10-15 in this draft ??

How did we have that winning streak again? Was it all a dream?

Home (5): Cha, Min, Chi, Den, Mil
Road (2): Pho, Dal

You look at that schedule and the Jazz SHOULD have been at least 6-1. I guess Charlotte qualifies as a quality win since they're 32-28. We caught Dallas napping in the 4th. The 7-game streak was never a reflection of how good the Jazz were. Nor does this losing streak mean the Jazz are this bad. It all averaged out. Utah is about a .500 team with serious deficiencies on offense and absolutely HORRIBLE PG's.

So you were expecting Burke to win the game alone when we were down by 11 in the 4th quarter?

I and others have posted more than enough stats on this board to show that the plsyers all play considerably better with Mack than with Burke. This is just getting dumb now.

Yes, but there was one available in the last draft and DL went with the ballerina. Could have EASILY signed a decent PF or wing as a free agent to strengthen the bench. Instead, Jazz re-upped Johnson, Ingles, Millsap and signed Pleiss. Only FA signing that made sense was Withey to back up Gobert. And that AMAZING trade at the deadline. WOW!!!

so we suck at winning AND we suck at losing? (picking 13th or 14th, is a ****ty tank job)

I don't think they decided to tank until Burks got hurt and wouldn't be back until well after the All Star Break. I just think that Quin is tanking with his mid game rotations and then the starters get a chance to bail the team out at the end. Or something similar to that.

Whatever, we were doomed after Rodney went out. Hard to read anything more into it. There's no way us without Rodney beats them even at home. Its a wash.

This is dumb. Snyder wants playoffs. Team wants playoffs.

He wouldn't have hurt. If he got hot, might have made the difference.

Anyway, you're right. I think those 3 are all gone this summer.

This.

Jazz are 1-5 since Mack arrived and he is getting more than 20 minutes per-game. I'm not telling it is fault but these are facts too.

Blaming the 1-5 record on Mack is a kindergarten analysis. Why not also point out that the Jazz won every 1st quarter they've played with Mack? Or that the Jazz with Mack in the game are still a net positive?

Also worth mentioning is that 4 of the losses were at Portland, vs San Antonio, at Boston, and at Toronto. Boston and Toronto haven't lost at home in forever, Portland's on an amazing tear, and San Antonio is San Antonio. The only unforgiveable loss was against Brooklyn, and Mack was one of very few Jazz players who played well that game.

Would Hood have made a difference? I feel like this team needs to dump Ingles, Booker, Burke.

And replace them with other guys DL finds at Walmart. DL WON'T spend money. We've been told the Jazz would be players in free agency for several years - that's why they wouldn't take on any long-term deals (and why Utah didn't get anything back for Boozer, Jefferson, etc.). I guess that meant the GS trade. DL will say he explored several options, but ultimately likes our young players, believes in internal development and that getting Exum (and Burks) back will be the biggest acquisition(s). DL has already conceded the season. And he's probably pissed off a few players by not getting any real help for them. Jazz played their butts off heading into the break. I'm sure it was pretty disheartening to them that the GM for a team fighting for the playoffs only adds a 3rd-string PG to strengthen a weak bench.
