What's new

Jazz/ Rockets/ Bulls/ Raptors ....................i wish

Houston gets..........Al Jefferson

Toronto gets..........Luol Deng

Chicago gets..........Kevin Martin

Utah gets..............Jose Calderon(exp con)
Marcus Morris(1.9m/ 3yrs)

and in a subsequent trade......maybe at the deadline depending on how Kanter looks.

Charlotte gets........Paul Millsap

Utah gets..............D. Diop(7.3m/Exp deal)
Charlotte 1st rnd pick

Jazz roster then looks like..potentially....

Bigs- Favors, Kanter, Morris, Diop(?), Millsap(?), Evans

Wings- Hayward, Burks, Ma. Williams, Foye, Carroll(?), Evans, Murphy(?)

Guards- Mo. Williams, Calderon, Tinsley, Watson(?)

and assets.....

Our own 1st rnd pick
GS 1st rnd pick
Charlotte 1st rnd pick

I would rather have a different young big from Houston, maybe even 2. Chicago wants more than mini-Kmart for their second best player. They would need a pick and maybe the unloading of Boozer's contract. I actually think Calderon and Amir Johnson for Boozer would be good trade for both Chicago and Toronto.

ya but after the magic raping i have to faith in the system. it seems anything goes. i meant to include draft picks also but was in a hurry lol. i just thought it would be good staring peramiters

if the rockets had any intrest in a boozer/ big al frontcourt it would add more picks to the deal. Personally I would give the GS with millsap to charlotte also. But that deal would have to be done at deadline to see what the picks are shaping up to be. trade machine only allowed the four teams and i couldnt out the trade i had planned.

With Cho running the show in Charlotte, he ain't giving up ANY draft picks.

This. Keep in mind though that Chicago has a pick from the Bobcats that eventually is unprotected. If the Jazz can help them shed salary while getting better they might be willing to part with that pick. Doubt it though.

The "system" only works for the big markets and superstars. Welcome to the NBA.

I still don't understand jazzfanz's race to the bottom desire to get as little for our most proven players as possible.

Because if stage left is obvious, and I'm not saying it is, we'd like to get more than we did for Boozer. Though that TPE was nice.

But what we got for Boozer WAS Jefferson. I understand there was an intermediate step for like 3 days, but that's functionally what happened and it happened that way by design.

But seriously, bracketing entirely whether other teams would do this, this is a trade from a $15,000,000 expiring contract to a worse player that's a $10.5 million expiring contract. So I guess Greg Miller saves some money, which is nice for him, but other than that it's a strict downgrade in terms of assets. If the only point is to clear space for other players then you just pay Al to stay home and hold on to the larger expiring because it's of greater potential use at the deadline. Even better, just tell him he's coming off the bench and he'll be paid to stay home if he's going to cause a stink about it. Letting him make other teams better is a strictly worse option.

And with all the free money we have, who do we sign? Utah doesn't get any big FA. Trade Al for something of worth other than another expiring.
