Jazz Scrimmage Thread

Favors looked very very comfortable on offense in the short sequence where he dropped those 4 points in quick succession. Head up, patient-- yet assertive. He completely owned Gobert with an up-and-under. Al-esque.

I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and good Favors looked. Sweet move in the paint, and a Malone looking jumper. It was like he was playing with D-leaguers out there.

The main thing I got from this is I noticed they bring the ball up on the side and not down the middle. When the ball is moving the offense flows nicely. When someone is holding the ball up its super obvious and the play dies.

I sat on the sixth row and it was pretty obvious that Exum was gassed and he kept grabbing his shorts and bending over. When I was 19, I could play bball all day long. Why does he always looked like he's gasping for air. His handle looked pretty loose and he wasn't balanced on any of his shots. He's a long-term project that may or may not pan out.

Guys who looked comfortable and in decent shape: Hayward, Favors, Burks, Kanter, Booker, Burke, Motum, Evans. Gobert probably too, but he was out of position quite a bit.

Exum looks like one of those Jazz rookies who is clearly behind everyone else, but is going to get regular playing time. If Sloan were the coach, I don't think he'd play except in blow outs--think CJ Miles, Ronnie Brewer or Jamie Watson as rookies.

It's the elevation probably. Thin air. It's a real adjustment for people. He looked better during FIBA.
