What's new

Jazz Select Olivier Hanlan

They thought he was BPA in a weak 2nd round. It was worth a shot. He will get a few more SL games. Hopefully he does better.

Agree with this. Would have rather traded up for Richaun Holmes. Kid looks solid, defensive and versatile. I just don't know if Hanlan has enough juice to stick.

He really has to improve his 3pt shot. The one he made was a line drive shot that looked like a fluke given it was a bad release. He has passed up open 3's and just generally not shot them that accurately when he has put proper arc on the shot.

He had one nice drive I remember. He should have made it, but he really lacked the speed to get that extra bit of space to comfortably finish the play.

I think Utah will sign him to a cheap deal and stick him in Idaho. He's a baller and a smart player, he just looks really nervous. Hopefully he turns it around in Vegas

Fair enough. In actuality, I see Holmes as an undersized big instead of a good sized wing. If they wanted a wing, they should have traded up for Pat Connaughton. He was rising fast. Bet both picks would have gotten up just far enough to get him.

Holmes is pretty normal sized for a big, 6'10 240. Wouldn't have wanted him with Lyles already on board though, not really sure what direction I would have liked in the 2nd. Hanlan looks like he'll wind up in Idaho so far though (not that that's bad for a rookie).

When OH was at BC they had a desiganted 3 point shooter that transferred to Boise State as he had received a bachelor's degree.
