What's new

Jazz should go after Porzingis.

Exum, Hood, Lyles, Favors, both 1sts, a future unprotected pick, take back Noah and figure it out later, whatever. Put it on the ****ing table.

Hayward/Porzingis/Gobert is a legit as **** core to build around. Incredible size, rim-protection, spacing, inside scoring. Unlike anything else in the league.

I still think they say no, but we'd likely have to offer it all.

All you can do is the best with what you've got. This is one of those situations. Hell, even if Hayward walks, a core of Porzingis and Gobert is something to build around. It is both a win-now and rebuild move.

Very late tweet: Remember how the Knicks were supposedly big fans of Trey Lyles before the 2015 draft?

Poz would be perfect. I think he would prefer playing here too.

I would give up Favors, Diaw, 3 first round picks for poz in a heart beat.

Hayward, Gobert, and the Unicorn with George Hill is such a contrasting style to the rest of the league that teams would have a hard time for sure.

Because he sucks. And is the most over rated player in the NBA over the last 20+ years.

I'm not a Melo fan either, but he has become so hated he has become underrated. He is a better player than he has been able to show with NYC's dysfunction.

Exum 6'6
Hayward 6'8
Gallinari 6'10
Porzingis 7'3
Gobert 7'1

Good luck getting into that paint.

I actually don't hate the idea of going after Melo if the price is low enough and he's playing significant minutes at the 4.

Knicks get: Exum, Hood, Lyles, 2 first rounders

Jazz get: Porzingis

Who says no?

The Knicks. Jazz would have to keep coughing up concessions (more picks, take back Noah) as they wouldn't be parting with a second or even third tier actual-player in the deal.

For the record on that point, again, I do that without blinking. Probably best to not just throw everything right on the table right away (don't want to look to desperate/lose bargaining leverage in negotiations).

In other words, what you're floating is a nice starting point.

Taking on Noah's contract is a good thought.

But here's the thing to always keep in mind about this: The fact that Porzingis isn't untouchable means that Jackson isn't playing with a full deck and might actually take an offer that is less top-heavy. If I'm him, I'm not fielding offers, and if I am, I'm fielding offers that start with a top-3 pick or 1st/2nd-tier player and if a team can't provide one (in addition to other assets), there are no talks.

To be able to pair porz and gobert I would give up almost any one on the roster and take back Noah's awful contract. My guess they would expect the jazz to take courney Lee's contract also

I would guess they would want hood, exum, lyles, favs and burks
