Where are you getting those 3 pt numbers?
 
No inside info but wondering if Jazz or other team would lay down a team friendly 3-year contract for two players and say: "We have one open roster spot. We extend you both this same offer and will accept the first player to sign."

In such a scenario it is easy to imagine a guy like Brantley choosing to bet on himself and determine he would take the required tendered offer for 1-yr in hopes of getting a contract larger than the minimum next offseason.

Weren't you upset about signing Royce as well over someone else?

My opinion on Brantley stayed the same, showed some physical ability but looked really lost out there at times on both ends of the floor. Shot selection was terrible. Than he got injured. Still not sure what type of player he is. But thats what the SLC Stars is for, he is made for that league .
 
I like this signing. If you ask me, Oni proved himself a lot more than the other two rookies the Jazz drafted. He's got a great size, hustles, defends and a good shooter. He just needs to be a little more aggressive, have better shot selection and yes, defense needs improvement but then again he is just a rookie.

But that’s good and won’t support his argument so let’s go with the inaccurate number okay.
 
Miye Oni has not made the team.

William Howard has not made the team.

Until we know that these dudes have a fully guaranteed fist year, they havent made the team.
 
While I believe every player is important from 1-15. The Jazz are contending this year no matter what. So hard to complain about anything at this point. Bring on L.A.! Take your pick, we about to stomp!!!

Oni is probably the most ready of the three rookies to play defense, and he has the right skills to match a true position on the wing.

I think he will log a few minutes on the real team when we have an injury or two. I think if Royce/Green/Bojan play minutes at the 4 it will open up some minutes at the 2/3... I think Oni is capable of hitting his open shots and playing adequate defense... don't think he will hurt us. I'm talking like Grayson Allen minutes but he won't hurt us like Allen did.
 
I read last night on Hoops Hype that Isaiah Cousins was signed for training camp, but I can’t find it announced anywhere.

Anybody else see this. I’m guessing he’s going to be an “affiliate player” for the Stars.
 
Kinda funny that the Jazz included a silent "k" in his phonetic pronunciation.
