Jazz @ Timberwolves gamethread

Gobert leads the league in mental blocks per 100 possessions. Call him Professor X.

Somebody please post a Gobert blocklight reel to the X-men theme song.

Someone seriously posted that Hill might not be that good because he doesn't get a ton of assists?

Get out of here with that. A lot of our scoring opportunities come from Hill, Hayward, and Hood creating for themselves off of the pick and roll. Just because Hill doesn't average 7+ assists a game doesn't mean he's not a true point guard.

He takes care of the ball at a league-best standard. He doesn't turn the ball over very often. He's a stable yet assertive ball-handler who can get the shots that he wants fairly often throughout the game.

He could likely rack up a couple more assists if he controlled the ball as much as other pgs do. He makes the right play and plays within himself.

Basically he's unlocked our offense and helped ramp up our defense... maybe he's good at basketball and fits in and is actually being used the right way. In his early years I remember thinking the guy would score around 20 a game and was really impressed by him.

I'd trade Burks tomorrow for nothing if it meant retaining this guy... he's a winner and anyone who can't see how damn good he is for us doesn't know basketball.

Give Hill teh money... All. Of. It.

The way this year is going for hill, I don't think he will want to leave. Don't think we will have any problem resigning him. Oh, and he's our Chauncey Billups. He didn't have a good shooting night tonight, but in his defense it's his first one. He's been very Billups like indeed. Didn't it take Billups 6-7 years to blow up?

And if Towns is really going to become the next great big man he has to get a lot better at rim protection.

Damn Gobert is a beast. It's hard to explain just how dominant he is out there. Tonight it showed up on the stat sheet but he does so much more than that. It's a joy to see him just shut the paint down.

Wolves are playing some pretty tight perimeter defense, but they dont see to have much rim protection.

KAT's DRPM is last in league among centers, below Okafor, Kanter, Kaminsky, etc. Not much talked about as it is swamped by his all-around offensive game.

Man, give the kid credit for taking responsibility. But he needs to find a way to find an emotional balance. Weight of world on shoulder. Probably not sleeping. Pressure from Thibs may not be be helping. They need to find a way to have fun in order to win. Maybe Luke Walton would have been a better choice than Thibs in terms of getting team emotionally in a winning state of mind.

Wasn't Towns voted as the best center in the NBA this offseason by jazzfanz?

Got to respect Towns in that interview. He cares about winning. Losses affect him. He is the anti-Dwight Howard.
I have no doubts he will be a pain in our side for years to come.
