Jazz to actively pursue Paul Millsap this offseason, per Spencer Checketts

this is all ridiculous .. Favors is a borderline star with every chance of becoming an all star calibre player in the next few years. Why the hell would anyone downgrade to a shorter, older version ? I like Milsap but he's not going to take you anywhere, did anyone not notice his disappearing act in the playoffs ?
He was hurt. Shoulder injury that they feared might require surgery. When Sap was a starter (whether filling in for Boozer or after Carlos left), he always started off hot and then tailed off as the season progressed. I remember a couple of years thinking he'd be an all-star and then he'd go into a month-long slump.

I think that's because of his size. He's just not big enough to bang against the majority of starters. That's why it MIGHT be plausible to convince him to come off the bench. Likely? Probably not. But his brother is here and we know he respects Quin. I don't like him as a starter, but he'd be great to pair up with Gobert OR Favors off the bench.

I dont understand how you dont want sap back. Did nobody read the zach lowe article? Hes exactly what this team needs! There are 96 minutes between the pf and center spots, not to mention another 48 at the 3 if we feel so onclined to play him there. If youre worried about rudy and favors' playing time, you havent kept up with sports science. The research has shown we shouldnt be playing them much more than 32 minutes a night anyway. Millsap brings shooting from the big spot and playmaking ability, whats not to like?

Not to mention the small ball lineups that have become prevalent in the playoffs. I hate to say it, but in later playoff, should we make it that far, rudy might be riding pine for the majority of the games. A big like millsap would be extremely useful in this type of situation.

We should move Thurl from announcer into the starting lineup. He played for the Jazz once so it automatically makes sense. He likes it here(he wouldn't even have to move)and he seems to like our coach. He could play the 2. Can you imagine how long we would be?

Srsly, why is this thread 16 pages? I'm starting to think Checkets posts on here and that he sent out that tweet just to troll JazzFanz.

Was Thurl an all-star last year? That's a HUGE difference. Could Utah use a big who averaged 17/8 last season and shoots 36% from deep? No, absolutely not! We need to stick with Booker, Jerrett and Cooley.

I only consider trading Favors for Karl Anthony Towns. Anyone else is a no and I move on.

I'm only for this if we hold onto Towns long enough to renew his contract and then trade him for a draft pick.
