Jazz Trading JLIII, Murphy for Carrick Felix

You guys are all missing the point of this trade. Cleveland really really wanted JLIII to mentor LeBron this year.
With the veteran leadership and mentoring JLIII brings, I fully expect LeBron to go off this year.

I like having an abundance of 2nd rounders as there's always the opportunity for a draft and stash or better yet, kicking the can down the road and letting a team have one for their 2nd rounder in the future.

This is probably the last deal we do from a trading perspective as there's not many scrubs left.

Add that pick to this existing haul:

2016 second round draft pick from Golden State

Golden State's 2016 2nd round pick to Utah [Denver-Golden State-Utah, 7/10/2013]

2016 second round draft pick from Boston/Toronto
Utah will receive the more favorable of Boston's 2016 2nd round pick and Toronto's 2016 2nd round pick (via Memphis) and Memphis will receive the less favorable of these two picks [Memphis-Toronto, 7/9/2009 and then Boston-Memphis-Oklahoma City, 1/7/2014 and then Memphis-Utah, 6/26/2014]; this pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2016 second round draft pick from Toronto" on Utah Credits

2017 first round draft pick from Golden State
Golden State's 2017 1st round pick to Utah [Denver-Golden State-Utah, 7/10/2013]
2017 second round draft pick from Golden State
Golden State's 2017 2nd round pick to Utah [Denver-Golden State-Utah, 7/10/2013]

2017 second round draft pick from New York
New York's 2017 2nd round pick to Utah (via Toronto) [New York-Toronto, 7/10/2013 and then Toronto-Utah, 7/10/2014]

2018 second round draft pick from Denver
Denver's 2018 2nd round pick to Utah [Denver-Golden State-Utah, 7/10/2013]

We should have pushed for first round pick, instead of second and $1M. Having in mind that Cleveland need this trade much more than we do, and it helps them get where they want to be in order to be able to trade for Love.
No way the Cavs were giving up more than a 2nd for $816K in cap relief. There have been times I thought the Jazz should have gotten more for taking on salary dumps. This isn't one of them.

We are going to continue to trade them back until we fulfill my dream of owning ALL of the second round picks in a draft. We are a third of the way there. It will be cool when the second round hits and Nate Silver will have to give the mike over to DL who will take over the next round of the draft. Run it like an auction. It will be EPIC!

There must be an unwritten rule somewhere that says if you collect all 30 second rounders you get a free top #10 pick.

Uhhh wasn't it like 3.3 million?

I have no idea who this guy is, but getting anything for JL3 and Murphy is an absolute steal and a half.

Though I kink of liked Thomas' game. Still, I'd like the Modum kid to grab that final bench spot.

56K Baud Modem is a decent bench guy, I like him as our 12th or 13th guy.
