#UtahJazz have made progress in talks with second-round pick Kevin Murphy. Jazz hope to have him under contract before camp starts. Signing Kevin Murphy would bring Utah's roster to 15, since Raja Bell hasn't been bought out and is still under contract with Jazz.
Not a real big deal, but if they do than that means that they think he is a keeper. I agree with them from what I've read, so welcome to the team fella.

Who?

Update on twitter: (seriously, follow it right now)

Talks with Murphy began under Kevin O'Connor and have been transferred to new GM Dennis Lindsey. Even with lingering Bell situation, ..

It's either Murphy or Josh Howard.

That's like choosing between eating a piece of bread or chewing on an ugly human face.

Good. I really liked what I saw out of him during the SL even though his stats weren't great. He seems to have a high basketball IQ.

The Jazz signing Kevin right now is like when guys are at the playground and they pick someone's younger brother to play instead of that 'one guy' who has talent but not the right attitude. (am i talking about Roger or Josh? I am not sure myself)

Better than my analogy.

I like Kevin Murphy and think he can play. Regardless, if it is guaranteed it won't be for much money. Unfortunately, unless he blows up like Wes Matthews he will not be seeing the floor because the Jazz brought in Foye. Now with Foye, Burks and Hayward how is the kid going to get playing time?

I have to think that KOC doesn't mess around anymore with second rounders or camp invitees because Matthews lurks the dark recesses of his mind. I know that this is a completely unpopular opinion around here but I don't think that Evans (as much as I like the kid) should be holding a roster spot on this team.

More like you take the young guy who can run and won't take too many shots because he is happy to be playing with the really good guys in the gym opposed to the old fat guy who is going to slow your team down and take shots.

LOL. That would be good for Utah, but not so good for Kevin. I told him this weekend to try to make sure he gets a guaranteed contract. He told me that's what he and his agent are planning to do.
