Jazz vs Cavs......8:30MT......Hayward is out.....

He swung the ball low and elbowed Frye in the nads. Frye got pissed and Lyles didn't back down. It wasn't worthy of being tossed, and it didn't look intentional to me, but whatever. He did his damage and didn't back down to a punk like Frye.
Can't really be mad at Frye though, he got elbowed in the nuts.

Sounds like a perfect reason NOT to tank.

Why? Some of the teams behind us have no incentive to lose, they don't have their pick or are fight for the playoffs. It could be an easy job and would get us a better asset that could be used to get a better player in trades.

I am pretty vanilla about it, though. I just present it as an option.

The thing on the Lyles play. You have to ask yourself if a rookie is going to intentionally elbow a dude in the balls in a big close game? He was trying to clear space and elbowed a guy it happens... Grow up Frye.

The way I see it the reward for tanking is not nearly big enough. There's a good chance that we end up with the same player either way. On the other hand, making the playoffs is a significant step for this team. What if they win a game? That would be a huge accomplishment against a GS or SA team. It's really a no lose situation because nobody expects us to be competitive with either of them.

Mack almost had a triple double 17/7/10! When's the last time a Jazzman had 10+ assists? Was it Dante last year in that one game he had 12?

Also I'm really happy Lyles jawed back with Frye and pushed him. Shows he's got some Booker in him. I was worried he'd be kind of passive and a bit soft. He really played great tonight too, 12 pts in 13 min with some clutch shots. 10 in the 4th quarter alone.

Been stuck in the parking garage in the same spot for 30 minutes reminding me why I don't go to games lol

I guess Utah may have sunk as low as 8th if they had lost almost all their remaining games. But that would have meant a handful of teams would have had to make up 2-3 games on the Jazz. And that's not easy when those teams are playing at a .300-.400 pace. Sure a lot of them don't have incentive to tank. But they're also just plain lousy.

Utah DOES need a couple more decent players. But I think that has to come through free agency.

I'm pretty sure Hayward had a 10 assist game earlier this year.
