Jazz vs Heat | Wednesday December 8th @ 7:00pm (The Rematch)

Before we throw the baby out with the bathwater... Another way to look at things is if DWill hits 2 threes and Big Z misses just 2 shots the game is very different game. Both of those "ifs" are reasonable. But what this says is that the difference between the teams is not that much - but is enough that Miami is better.

here are the oldest 7 teams in the league in order (weighted by player minutes as repored by www.hoopism.com)
Dallas
Lakers
Boston
Phoenix
Miami
San Antonio
Orlando

Jazz are 15th. Which of the teams listed are integrating two new starters (or more)? Miami and Utah - And Miami now has 2 of the 3 best players on the planet (and IMO the top three players in the NBA are a notch above the remaiing group 4-10) Utah has some growing together still. We (Jazz) are capable of some ebbs and flows but are also capable of chemistry improvement. We lost to a very good team.

While i agree with many of the postings about what could have been better, i still think the glass is more than half full at this point in the Jazz's situation. And it boils down to the point one poster in the thread said - This game exposed the weaknesses more than a clippers game.

Big Al definitely a little lazy getting back on Biz Z after helping on Bron or Wade on the screens. Got killed on the boards again. Hope AK regains his shooting touch and even the Fes haters got to acknowledge that he can help the team.

I have no clue why (other than their rookie titles) Hayward and Evans aren't getting ANY burn. I agree, they shouldn't be getting 40 minutes per game. But right now is the time to experiment with lineups. Right now is the time to see what Hayward and Evans can do. Right now is the time to play these guys so Millsap, Al, and AK don't have to play so many minutes.

I truly think that Evans could make a difference right now. The last 3 games we've lacked energy and emotion. A big dunk from him could ignite the second unit and give the crowd energy.

I don't get it I love our 2nd unit. I love the energy that Watson, Price, Miles, Elson and Fes had with eachother. They only seem to work well together. I don't know why Jerry hasn't been playing them together (except that Fes was injured last game). The last three games the team really could have used the energy that group of players me ignites.
Why mess with something that isn't broken? So un-Jerry like!

I've been wondering if Kirilenko has been playing injured or what. He looked stuck in the mud on several plays.

....frankly, Klinko just isn't that smart of a ball player. He can be fooled on defense, and stupid on offense. He plays more by instinct than with his head. His attention span is probably at the 3rd or 4th grade level. He's virtually uncoachable I suspect...and the sooner we get that 18 million dollar per year albatross contract off our backs the better this team will be. That being said....I hope he has a better game against the Magic....because we're gonna need him!

The Jazz have to prove that they are a contender in the WEst. Home losses against Thunder, Spurs, Mavs and Heat in same homestand is ridiculous. 16-7 record is pleasing but the "statement" games that the Jazz have lost at "home" will not get them a top3 seed.

For now, Lakers, Mavs and Spurs are the elites of the West and clearly are better than the Jazz. The elites' biggest chance so far is not having to integrate, adapt new important, star, cornerstone players into the system. THis is a huge advantage. The Jazz hopefully will get better as the are supposed to be throughout the season and can challenge them. I do not want to witness another 50+ win 4th or 5th seed finish, which is also not guaranteed. THe bottom line is the Jazz have to win must-win games and they should win statement games at home.

Well, Wade and Lebron are tough to beat in the 4th quarter. And when Jefferson is missing his 2-foot push shots, there is no hope.

Didn't see the game, but it looks like the Jazz were in it until the 4th, so yea, maybe they ran out of gas. Shooting % was fine, except they missed their 3s, also telling me that the points on Dwill's minutes (0 fo 5) might have been correct. Up until now, the LeBron and Wade have been poor from 3, but nobody tells them to stop shooting from 3 so much.

Also got outrebounded.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Sloan is overrated. He's a great defensive coach, but that's it.

On another note, one thing that drives me crazy is to see a player play 22 seconds of great defense and then let them have an open shot. In the fourth quarter, Raja did a nice job of knocking the ball away from D. Wade, who then recovered and took a wide-open three. With only a couple of seconds left on the clock, what else was he going to do with it?

yea, Bell probably didn't know that the clock was winding down, or he did, and didn't want to bail out Wade with a foul with the clock winding down, but I agree, I often see where players could play the last few seconds of the clock better.

You are way off yet again. Prove that Jazz offense is bad. Over the years, the Jazz offense has ALWAYS been one of the MOST efficient and unstoppable systems in the NBA. The Jazz offense requires perfect execution, preparation, effective cuts and drives, constant and logical off the ball movement off players, ball sharing, effective spacing. When players commit themselves to execute the offense, play aggressive and unselfish, the offense becomes really creative and despite the fact that basic principles is known by everybody, due to the ball movement from side to side, off ball movement of players, it becomes unpredictable and difficult to adjust by defenses. The Jazz have had struggles on offense this year and it's normal. It's an adjustment period and since the offense is complex and requires repetition, it takes some time for newcomers to become adjusted to. Nice try.
