Indeed, in my short time here I've noticed this board has quite the infatuation with Fesenko..... Should be a fun game, I will be out of town for Thanksgiving, but I hope I can still catch the game somehow.

Interview — Jazz's Williams discusses second unit, tired legs, upcoming test, CP3

Transcript of a media interview with Jazz guard Deron Williams following Utah's 94-83 home win against Sacramento on Monday.

Williams on the second-unit's spark and identity: They've been instrumental in a lot of our wins. The first group's still sluggish to start games and that group gets out an runs. They run, they get after people defensively. It's something we need to get that first group to do.

Second unit having more players who have been on the court together before: Definitely. I think that's a big part of it; that's a key of it. And Earl's a fast learner; he's picked it up great. That's a lot of what it is. They've come together. They know what their objective is: to get after people defensively; to execute; to run; to get out and run and they do it.

Potential on having Earl Watson and Ronnie Price being interchangeable: Definitely. I've been out there with Earl. I've been out there with Ronnie. I know to expect that at times. I welcome playing with those guys.

Second-unit's fast pace: I would like to get that going in the first group. That's what that whole thing with 'running through' was about. That's what they do. They get out and run; they run through; they get layups; they get dunks.

His shot not falling: It sucks.

Tired legs: A lot of it is just my legs, man. I've got a lot of things going on. I've got to get in the gym; shoot some extra shots. I'm not used to missing these shots that I'm missing. I'm missing layups; I'm missing shots.

Feeling a lack of lift: Yeah. I have not lift. I've airballed, like, four times in the last three games.

Need rest or work in the gym to strengthen things: We haven't had a day off — haven't had many days off. The schedule's been pretty bad.

New Orleans and Los Angeles Lakers: These are some big games for us. New Orleans is playing as good as anybody right now. People always like to see the match up against me and CP. And then we've got the defending champs coming in. So, these are two huge games for us.

Matching up against Paul: Yeah. I love playing against Chris. I like playing against my friends. I enjoy playing against him. He's one of the best point guards in this game, that's playing probably the best out of any of the point guards right now.

Good early-season test to see what team is made of: It is. Especially with how we've struggled at home. If we don't come ready to play against teams like this, we'll get blown out of the water.

Afford slow starts against Hornets, Lakers: Probably not.

Feeling about where Jazz are at right now: There's positive and negatives with everything. We can look back at some of the games and wish we could've had 'em. At the same time, some of the games we won, a couple bounces go the other way and we have a worse record. So, we have a lot of room to improve, which is I think the best thing. We still haven't played a full, great game where everybody's clicking, where everybody's on the same page. We're still searching for that.

CP3 and the hornets are finally a team that looks good. At least for the moment.
I've been waiting for a good Dwilly vs. CP match up since they got drafted.
Maybe it will be a true battle this year?

Can't wait.

Williams said he grew tired of the "D-Will vs. CP3" debate years ago and it's pointless. Won't know who's better until they retire.

Hornets have lost 2 out of the last 3 on the road and were lucky to win in Sacramento.

I see this team falling back to the pack very soon.

Despite our shortcomings that many of us, myself included, have been bitching about on the board, we stand at 10-5 which is 55 win pace.

Solid? Yes. Overly-impressive? No.

That is unless you take a step back and think about how many new pieces we have and how the on court chemistry should improve, how our bench is thin and will only get better with Memo's (somewhat) impending return, and most importantly when you consider that 10 out of our 15 opponents have been against teams who currently sit at .500+. Heck, only two games have been at home versus teams with losing records.

In other words, our competition has been very strong so far and will continue that way throughout this homestand. But if we can come out of this at 16-8 or better, I'll love where we sit because shortly thereafter we have a stint from December 18th to January 19th that includes 15 games, 12 of which are against teams with losing records.

I have a good feeling about these Hornets and Lakers games.
