Jazz vs Nuggets tonight - 7PM MST - Gamethread

Given the recent opinions about Hayward on this board, I found this post on a Denver Nuggets forum and had to share:

Have to be real though, Denver needs to add more talent. We need someone like a Gordon Hayward to bail us out when the game slows down.

Finally, a good defensive effort in crunch time.
Those easy buckets that good D creates are a big part of what's missing. Also another thing I noticed is Hayward hasn't been shooting his patented turnaround fadeaway that is unguardable. He did shoot one this game, but he used it way more last year.

Ugly, badly needed win. Hayward was fantastic. Loved his post up baseline spin. Great footwork. Bookers three was huge. Lyles is starting to look like an nba player.
I bet hood would score over 11 points and he scored 12. That last free throw won it for me. Also bet the jazz would cover and won that. Lost bets on favors over 17 points and faried over 9 rebounds.

Burks only 17 minutes?

I thought he played ok. The box score shows that he was second on the team in +/- and had 1 foul, 1 turnover, 4 rebounds and didn't shoot horribly (3-7, 8 points)

I remember he had a bad cross court pass intended for ingles that was stolen and then he was immediately benched. Right after his benching the nuggets went on a 7-0 run in the next three minutes until hayward came back into the game.

I thought Coach Snyder went with Ingles a little too much tonight. But the Jazz got the win, so no use complaining. Burks is my favorite player on the Jazz besides Rudy, so I always want AB on the court.

Lyles missed a ton of defensive assignments, but looks like he has figured a few things out.

I think this whole season (and possibly next season) will be a learning process for Lyles. The obvious key for him is getting himself physically bigger/stronger so he doesn't get pushed around so much. Once he does that he'll be golden.

Damn it, I really like to like Lyles,... he just seems to lack #hunger to me.... Lyles + Booker's #hunger would be PERFECT.

The play Hayward hitting Book for a 3 is what makes Hayward different. The "Top Tier' #1 options will force that shot for themselves. Hayward makes the right basketball play...good or bad.. People (non Tier 1/2 players) love playing with a #1 option like that as they feel more part of the team.

I do not think Burks / Hayward play that well together either.....

Haywards numbers and aggressiveness is always way higher without Burks.

I think this a big reason Burks comes off the bench. Really, one of them should be on the court at all times though.

I agree, he was creating his own shot, making plays for others and making the right decisions. Really great game from him.
