What's new

Jazz VS Spurs @ 8:30 on Root Sports, ESPN 1280 AM/ 97.5 FM

There was a fluke play where Kanter swatted someone in the paint and the ball went right to a Spurs player in the corner like it was a pass. The Spurs guard then hit the 3-ptr. So I guess Mo Williams shot evened things out.

I'm still upset by the shot selection. Mo tried to be the MAN twice in the last 2 minutes and nearly cost us the game. I'm going to enjoy this, and I give Mo his due, but I pray he knows deep inside that he's not the guy who should be taking those shots. That said, I'm really happy.

I hated his shot selection in general, mostly because it was just so obvious the way it was set up, but with the last shot in a tie game he's as good as anyone else on the roster to take it.

I noticed how Demarre Carroll really amped up the defensive intensity both times he subbed in.

Honestly to say he's been a pleasant surprise is an understatement. All the guy does is hustle and plays his *** off, and hits good shoots pretty consistently to boot.

Two things I'm most sure of this NBA season:

Spurs will have a terrific regular season
Spurs will get exposed in playoffs again by superior athletes

Hayward is balling tonight. It is loud in that arena! You can barely hear the commentators at times.

Hayward is a baller, i dont know why he is underestimated by some people, his best position is 2, he should just play there instead of guarding beasts at 3.

I just woke up and admit I'm very impressed. What are we, 3-1 vs. the Lakers and Spurs this year?

That said, and I'm really not trying to poo poo on our parade, but we're still just 13-10 and I'm waiting for that ten game streak where we go 3-7, losing to inferior opponents on the road. I really, really hope we are learning as a team and such but I still have major doubts that this team knows how to consistently play true team defense for even close to 48 minutes and/or win on the road.

If we can get through the next 17 games at just 9-8, I'll be happy and fairly impressed. We have 11 road games over that span and our six home games are against teams currently slotted for the playoffs: Miami, Clips, Memphis, Golden State, Minny, and Dallas. That would leave us at 22-18 despite having played a road-heavy 24 away games to that point.

the expression on big al's face at 0:38 says a lot for me. when he is in the right aggressive frame of mind he plays so much better.
